I have to say you make this easy for a computer idiot like me . So I did all of this the first time as you said and restarted. I went back to the registry and can't find it . It seems like the crooks at MS have found a work around unless I'm not understanding something. It also shows it's still going to install updates against my wishes. I'm going to try and do it again . Thank you - BUT... Microsoft is COMPLETELY IGNORING ME.... they "ALLOWED" me to "PAUSE" until August 20th... BUT THAT IS THE ABSOLUTE LAST TIME I am "allowed" to pause my own computer until they will come in again TO MESS UP MY SYSTEM. now save as bat extension as below
stop-updates.bat

now right click on "stop-updates.bat" and select “Run as Administrator"
