Justice Athar Minallah of Supreme Court of Pakistan is speaking live to the members of the New York Bar in the USA. He has recently delivered a landmark judgement as part of a 13 judges full court bench wherein the judges by majority of 8 to 5 held that the main opposition party (Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf-PTI) was wrongfully denied the status of a politically party by the election commissio0n to deny it the special seats quota for women and minorities in the parliament. During this historic hearing Justice MInallah repeatedly remarked that the conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan left much to be desired and that there was a strong perception that the mandate of the people of Pakistan had been stolen.
