A year late, so you may already know this, but a program called Wine, allows most Windows programs to run on Linux. Also Steam's Proton, which is a fork of Wine, allows most games to run on Linux.

Btw similar program comes prepackaged with Windows for running Linux programs, and it should allow you to even use the Linux file storage format, Ext4, if it is any importance.

Oh and there are things like Tiny11 which allow you to convert a normal Windows ISO to a lite version. Not perfect privacy, but it allows better performance thanks to deleted bloat.

qtg, windows has always been carrying bloated legacy software since xp and windows 7, so i usually just have windows 7 running on my computer, and anything past that falls into mediocrity. lol i wish i could have the technicql skill to get linux running, and tbf windows still is a big part of the software world as its cheap easy to run, and most software is built with it in mind. its hard to think of any 3rd party software built specifically for something that isnt windows really, and its got good enough documentation in their code so its extremely easy to develop for windows systems...
