Bangladeshi here, there was a time we used the word "British" as a slang for people with hidden intentions but nowadays people use it as more like a nuisance, even my mom sometimes calls me that for acting too smart 🤣🤣

One last thing bro my great-great-grandfather was a "Zamindar" during the British period, we are called "bish-shash/Biswas" which means faithful, when the British left they gave away the land called "Kustia" aka a whole island to my ancestor also we are all Muslim, the story goes like; if u tell him that "crops are rotting the field" he would let u take them for free and he will not even bother to check, maybe he believed in people too much or he might saw horrors of famine. Now I do not have any property or land in my name but i am happy to carry a piece of history within my blood

This video kinda made me look more into my culture, although you briefly mentioned about Baul which is Bengali folk music, I’d like to mention few legendary Baul singers of Bangladesh or previously East Bengal where this singers are from. Lalon Fakir born 18th century Khulna region, Hason Raja from Sylhet born 19th century and Shah Abdul Karim born 20th century from Sylhet. Some of their songs even today in 21st century is still popular. My last msg was deleted 🫤 so I’m reposting.
