HUGE UPDATE! Lightroom Classic 13.3 May 2024

This update has broken Lightroom for me! Photos won’t import, system hangs doing basic things, etc. I’d recommend waiting for the next stable release!!

Is it possible to set this up in Lightroom and use it with zoom calls?

Nice. But what is the quality of the AI generated portion of the image.? Is it of same quality of the sorrounding area?

super presentation and examples ! my preferred feature is sony tether for my a74 and a7r5. Recently i purchased tethertools smartshooter 5 but didn't like it under LRC, so i purchased C1 just for tethering, which is amazing tool for zooming,checking focus,.... Perhaps i won't renew my C1 next year if LRC is working well. I am not interested with IA remove because it is limited to 250 images/month with photography subscription. So, i will continue using photoshop and ON1 to do that for free.

Sony A7iii with a Firmware 4.01 does not support tethering in LR 13.3. :( What a bummer

Just don't try and remove cables with the generative removal tool! It doesn't work!

Asking because I started trying to learn Photoshop, and now this removal tool came out, and I'm wondering if it's worth the venture of trying to learn Photoshop still

I hate that selection brush tool, it so clunky. It’d be nice to have the lasso tools (particularly polygonal) from Photoshop in Lr/ACR.

U save my life got tethered shoot tonight

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I noticed the tool works much better (ie: both higher precision and faster) if you use it as the first thing in your workflow, before any edit (especially masking).

In both LR and PS when I use Lens/Depth blur it's creating a dark fringe around the subject and sometimes butchering the edges of the subject. I end up spending a lot of time fixing these issues. How can I stop this from happening? PS - enjoy your videos very much!

Generative remove is an awesome addition. I would always jump in and out of photoshop to do that. This will save me a few steps.

Lightroom can’t remove things from the sky as well as PS. Photoshop lives on !!!!

sony tether, FINALLY. i wonder if i can finally set raws to automatically open with lightroom/photoshop for some reason the "always open with" never worked. not sure if its a sony/adobe thing or a sony/mac thing. anyone else have this problem?

The ai remove doesn’t work that well with busy backgrounds.

what is the image quality of the generated pixels? is it still 1024 x 1024? or it matches the resolution of the original image?

The tether is really good. Everything works well. Only thing I wish they would add is on the live view the ability to click and choose your focus point.

Now they just need the same remove tool from photoshop. The Lightroom version is terrible.

I hope I'm wrong but I see these updates as an excuse for Adobe to split the photo package and start charging separately for LR and PS.

So what's the difference between AI from Photoshop and the lightroom AI?

may be you could show how to updated your lightroom catalogue from old version because when you do auto update the AI feature doesn't work

Obviously, the lens blur feature isn't yet where it should be usability-wise. There should be stuff like masking objects or parts of the image and set focus/blur to selected areas with as you would do with a color picker for example. At the moment with all the work done with brushes, there's still way too much corrections needed to be done by hand.

So are the gen fills capped at 1000px resolution like in PS Gen AI? Edit: its capped still. Tolerable in PS. In a photo editing app like LR that is always going to be dealing with large images, this is slightly disappointing.

Is the AI remove tool using any kind of credits, or can you use it on as many photos you want?

The enhancement to the lens blur feature is my favorite. This feature works great to sharpen objects into focus, this enhancement allows you greater control.

Ok found out that lightroom does not support the current firmware version for A7iii and A7Riii come on Sony that's disappointing, do I have to upgrade my camera ?

I don't have access to the update - not sure why - I have 13.2 and when I click for updates - LR is not there - it's showing as no updates -???

Meh. I tried it and probably won't use it for the same reason I don't use the clone and healing tool in LR: I think they perform better in Photoshop. Just my opinion.

Really interesting being able to work like this directly in Lightroom. It's getting better and better AI.
