I remember watching the black and white minstrel show as a young black boy born in the UK, it was a strange spectacle to see , even today at 63 it's still looks wired. They other wired one was a white man blacket up to play othello that was really weird as well. And they English haven't changed really they just get some one else to spill their bile who don't look like themselves . Brilliant will be sub and 👍🏿love history especially social history.

I stopped watching when you said that there continues to be systemic segregation and discrimination experienced by black people in the south. What a bunch of BS. The only systemic segregation and discrimination today comes from stupid “wokesters” that demand separate graduations, preferred segregated housing, and other preferential treatment for black people.

Heard the term. Grew up in 70-80”s. Went to the Army. Blacks never had a problem excelling, had several black bosses, male and female. Some were good, some not just like white and brown counterparts.

Racism is only alive because the socialists and communists are keeping it alive to divide our nation.

Always knew this as I read the International Library of Afro-American Life and History growing up, (it's no longer published) as well as lived in 40 states and experienced it first hand. But "Jim Crow" is now being practiced by blacks themselves. Segregated graduation ceremonies, segregated dorms, etc. Doing the exact opposite of what MLK said in his "dream" speech. Now if you're a teacher that dares to give that speech in a school, it's possible that your job will be terminated. as it has been for teachers/professors across the country.

There's a Jim Crow Museum in Alabama. An old man had odds and ins such as a children's coloring book displayed in his living room. The state gave him the tax free benefit by declaring his living room a museum. I was born in Alabama and began crawling for the state line immediately and now am a proud citizen of Atlanta. Just being born there is embarrassing.

Interesting. I was unaware that Jim Crow was based on an actual person as opposed to a purely discriminatory movement. That said, I reject biden and the dem's Jim Crow 2.0 mantra. The US has had a black president for not just one, but two terms. That puts this narrative to bed for good.

I remember the Black and White Minstrel Show on TV in the 1950s and 1960s. Not sure whether or not it was an American show or a British show. The song and dance routines were incredibly well done and great entertainment. Nobody ever complained or criticized the show. In fact, it proved the singers, dancers and actors were skilled and talented performers.
