Honestly, Mccauley's biggest mistake was not just putting his foot on Waingro so couldn't escape, but when he did not make him his top priority before taking on a new score considering he was a loose end that ended up a liability anyway to himself and his crew later on.

How could McCauley been so stupid as to not have a silencer, not given him another whack, taken his eyes off him?

You don't see "tough guys" in hollywood like this anymore. The way this crew throws their weight around, the silent communication, the air of danger; compared to the roided body builders hollywood tries to present as imposing, these guys look like natural born killers.

If this scene was set today you can bet your bottom dollar someone in the cafe would be filming it discreetly on their phone, regardless of who was giving a dirty stare. No way Neil would risk showing a grudge against his failed crewmember in public.

De Niro used every opportunity during the movie shooting to hit Kevin gage, waingro as much as possible...he cannot stand the fact that anyone else shines in a movie...he really is mafia guy, it's not just acting.

Outstanding movie, but a couple things:
1. There are more sophisticated ways to kill someone than in a public parking lot with a gun. Especially where multiple people in the restaurant can place you there with the guy you just killed.
2. Waingro suddenly morphed into Batman? Be serious.

Say what you want but everything goes wrong for Nick’s crew.
First heist, can’t kill Waingro, ambushed on the exchange and didn’t get paid, they have to walk from precious metal job, get a driver rehabilitating out of a job and killed, almost everyone is killed in the final job.

The Sizemore will be missed, dude was in everything , such a slick actor

How stupid is McCauley in this?

The only issue i have with this scene is that Neil was about to shoot someone in downtown LA in a busy diners parking lot. Like silencers arent that quiet.

That dude ruined the whole crew he made them hot asf. Also this is the only part of the movie where it's fake. U mean to tell me he escaped 4 trained criminals no way

Everything about this move is amazing, including these gorgeous men in the prime of their youth and acting abilities. Beautiful.
