1. Enjoy every second of your job

2. Consolidation requirement and Augmented crews Pilots new to a fleet are required to consolidate within 120 days to ensure recency of experience and proficiency

3. Boeing 757 +767 Experience requirements
757 - 25 hours or 5 flights
767 25 hours or 3 flights

4. How long do IOE + Consolidations Take
It take about 2 month to complete everything.

5. what happens if you don't Consolidate On-Time
You could go into the simulation for one day or become a flight crewman for 2 days to complete the Consolidate.

Do you worry about training to fly such old aircraft that the airlines will retire the planes and that your skill set will no longer be needed ? Why not train to fly a 787 or A350 that have a longer life ahead of them ?

I follow both you and Paul (mylayoverlife), who's a united jr captain. I gotta say im a month from turning 30 and am thinking about switching careers. I like United, but i cant afford their aviate program so I will be paying out of pocket in the next few years to become a pilot. Thanks for letting us see how fun and important this career is
