I assume this is just 15 towns in no real order. Nobody would put Oskaloosa over Pella which is 16 miles away. The Osky Mall is a ghost town.

Decorah, Iowas is home to Luther College and also the brewery Toppling Goliath. Many neat places in Decorah!

This list is bullshit. Most of these places I go out of my way to avoid.

Being from Iowa I have opinions about this...
McGregor should be on this list, with Pikes Peak State Park being there...
And no mention of the lakes? Okoboji and Spirit Lake are one of the biggest vacation areas of the state!

Penn central half empty. Always had been. Grinnell has waaaayyyy more city parks than Oskaloosa!

I didn't know that Penny's reopened at the Penn Central Mall in Oskaloosa.

I am currently In Maryland...I have been looking to move for a while and after seeing this list I will be looking at a few of these places as my new Home.....I am a simple man..Just want to work and relax..Peace and Blessings

And FWIW, , many of these towns are also college towns, which is a big reason why they're so lively.

Kalona, in Amish /Mennonite country southwest of Iowa City, is another pretty interesting Iowa small town.
