Hi Chris. Excellent recipe. Im alone so I halved the recipe. First time I made it it had a slight eggy taste. Sorr of like Maria Emerich's hard boiled egg pudding or deviled eggs. (I have super acute sense of taste and sme.) However, the egg taste was gone by the 3rd day in the fridge. I decided to make the egg whites first and I let them sit in the fridge 5 days. (Didn't mean to let them sit that long but did not get the chance to get back to thee recipe till then.) I heated the egg whites in the microwave for 2 min followed the recipe and it turned out perfect. No egg taste at all. Thought I'd share.

This recipe is so damn good, I just can’t figure out a good way to make ahead and reheat. For a dinner party, it’s too time consuming to make at the last minute. Ideas?

How do you re-heat these? I would rather eat them cold over the weird solidification that sometimes happens when you microwave them...

Ok. I’m back. I love the original recipe, but it does have that egg taste. However, I can tolerate the faint taste. Mind you, i tolerated cauliflower mashed potatoes. Ok, now I tweaked it slightly. I’m not carnivore or hardcore keto. I added 100 grams of potatoes to the recipe. Pow. Just that small amount kicked these up to potatoes. I also froze them. When they unthawed, more liquid came out. I poured the liquid off. Man o man I’m in heaven. Great recipe Chris. Today I’m going to try to make gnocchi out them using Victoria’s keto flour. Thank you both. Again, my aim is to lower the crabs, eat Whole Foods. Thank you.

Can you use protein powder egg whites to make this? Wouldn't that reduce the need to remove so much excess water?

Oh my goodness these are delicious! Made a roast slow cooked in fire and kettle mushroom soup and onions I then made gravy with the sauce and some green beans ( hubby likes the beans). These were wonderful! Thank you for you research.

OMFREAKINGGOODNESS! I just made these "potatoes" and I have to tell you they were awesome. I was led to this site via "Keto Twins" who tested them, so I decided to try. Thank-you soooo much. You are a genius Chris. I am going to try a shepherd's pie with them. The possibilities seem endless with this recipe. 💗💗💗

This is amazing. My family is still not Carnivore so we had both potatoes and this recipe. You could tell by looking, but we had a blind taste test and people preferred the carnivore "potatoes".

We are new to your channel. I just made this recipe. My husband said, and I agree, these are far above and beyond any of those cauliflower potato recipes. We almost ate the entire batch in one sitting. Thank you for creating this recipe.

I just made these mashed potatoes today (11/25) - Wow - they taste very good!! Thanks Chris 😊 - no hint of egg taste at all - I think I could even add bacon bits and some cheddar cheese for a loaded baked potato taste - overall very tasty and I will be making them again 👍

So my mash attempt was a disaster. Part way through I tasted a bit off the spatula (do not have a tamper) and I was amazed how close to mashed potatoes they were getting. That said, by the end, they were very pasty and not edible to be honest. I think I either added too much cream, blended to long, or perhaps a combination of both. Any ideas? On the bright side, the story does not end there...

I decided to fry and air fry a couple of tatertot-sized piece. The air on came out very bready and was not bad and I wonder about baking/air frying a roll out of it. The pan fried (tiny bit of bacon grease) one got a little squished into a pancake. I browned it well and added salt and my mind was blown. It was great. I kid you not, it tasted like a hush puppy (Long John Silver)!! I had my 9 year old(not keto or carnivore) try and her response was "can we just have these instead of regular pancakes". So while my mash was a disaster, and frying it did not give me a french fry, I am happy people did try french fries with it and allowed me to save a failure and find something we like.

ONLY things I "hate" about these kinds of recipes are the "special" ingredients that not everyone have in their kitchen...🫣

It'll cost me OVER $30, just to get those ingredients and try it out.😮

Fairly expensive, considering how expensive groceries are now days, not knowing "IF" I'll even like it or not🫣

That being said, I have tried other recipes from this channel.

EDIT: I made a batch, to test out and I'll be darn, this tastes EXCELLENT!👍🤙

So, for Thanksgiving, I doubled the recipe to have twice as much for Thanksgiving dinner😅

Well, DON'T DO THAT!. Taste was completely different from single recipe I made. If you want more, make 2 separate batches and not cut corners.😅

Still edible, just not as good as single batch😅

Made this today. Came out great! Took almost an hour to get the eggs to dry. Guess I could have turned up the heat a bit. Used the Ninja blender. Wish I had a different one with just the simple blades on the bottom instead of the tower of terror. All and all, even the wife thought it was a good substitute. Can't wait to have them with the prime rib that's going to be the 'turkey' this year.

These DO TASTE like REAL Mashed Potato’s ❤❤❤ to go with our Thanksgiving Turkey, also made your stuffing/dressing didn’t taste yet. And will also make your Carnivore Gravy to with!!!!!!

So I made these wonderful mashed potatoes this morning for Thanksgiving. I decided to indulge and eat a scoop of them while I was cooking and preparing. I am amazed how full I feel on just a little bit. So tasty so filling so proud to stay on track.

Just made this(prep for Thanksgiving) and they came out amazing.
I added butter powder and cut back on the egg white powder.
I added extra Parmesan cheese, a heaping tablespoon of whipped cream cheese, onion powder and creole seasoning (this helped mask the hint of egg taste).
They are rich and delicious.
Thanks so much as this is a game changer.
I plan to use some of the leftovers to make pierogis using this filling mixing it with cheddar cheese, bacon and maybe just a pinch of onion(definitely dirty carnivore).
I will use smoked provolone to create the pasta portion from the Keto Twins.
Can’t wait to use this in other recipes!!!

Oh my freaking G-d! I just made these tonight for Thanksgiving! Holy crap! They're freaking amazing!
I forgot to add the egg white powder but it doesn't need them. I used 2T of whipping cream!
I'm eating some tonight but then I'll wait for gravy on Thursday! Thank you Chris for your amazing experiments!

Is this supposed to be super dense, almost cement like? Even my Vitamix was having a very very hard time blending everything together. I had to scrape down the sides and bottom several times as the gelatin was stuck to the canister. I even added 3 tablespoons on heavy cream (1 at a time) to try to help the mixture move, but the Vitamix still had problem blending even with using the plunger. No way that it would “flow”into the blades. As you instructed to use as little cream as possible, I did not try adding more. Needless to say given how stiff the mixture was, I did not add any egg white protein powder. Taste wise they were ok but the dense/ heavy consistency was not so pleasant. I followed your instructions exactly (and my eggs were beautifully dried and everything!) Any idea what I did wrong? Should I have kept adding cream to loosen up the mixture?

Where did you all find the toasted beef gelatin??? Or did you use regular gelatin and toast it under the broiler? The package Chris used was a clear zip lock so I'm just trying to make sure I find the right ingredient! Many thanks!
