Final Fantasy XVI - Ifrit Boss Fight & Clive Finds Out Truth (4K 60FPS)

This was the fight that made this game go from meh to awesome for me. A very pivotal moment in the game

I like the subtle detail of Clive’s eyes when he transforms. The first two times he becomes Ifrit, his eyes are yellow to show he’s a mindless beast in that form. After he confronts and accepts his past, his Ifrit eyes become blue to show he has full control.

When clive Beats up clive that Is actually ifrit that Is clive's eikon but also Is really Just clive because clive supposedly killed Joshua which Is clive's Brother with a British accent while he allucinantes of his past self (which Is teenage clive)

There is something with Clive's personality that just gets to me, his VA is amazing at what he is doing, and the pure emotions in the character.

I beat the game but every now and then I like to see past boss battles.

Kinda wish that his semi prime mode looked like his inner self with the white hair and we got some of the moves he used 😕

My only wish for the game is for Clive to learn Hellfire. It’s Ifrits signature move so Clive has to have learned it but never did

I want this whole soundtrack

Was this game perfect? No.

But for me it was a very worthy edition with the high points being g outstanding.

I hope they take on board all of the positive lessons going forward with this game for future iterations and not just the bad.

Just finished this fight and good lord it had me smiling like a damn kid the whole way through. The scale, the message behind it, the visuals, the MUSIC. Absolutely quality moment.

Just completed the Ifrit boss fight and it had me in tears the whole time. I never experienced anything like that before from playing a game. Final fantasy 16 has to win game of the lifetime for that. I’m not even done w/ the game yet.

I don’t care what anyone says this was by far the most hype fight

The beauty of this is crazy.

So much to unpack actually in a merely few minutes of cutscenes in total.

"Come, Ifrit! Show me who you truly are" By saying that simple sentence he still didn't acknowledge the truth even though he's fully aware of it! Aware- but not accepting!

As so as the fight continues- Ifrit showed him indeed what he truly is; Clive himself.
For Clive to mutter out the sentence: "Still you deny it, even when the truth's staring right at you."

It wasn't up until even after that fight where his younger self and his older self both come to terms to what he truly is....Ifrit. The one who killed Joshua.
The first time I played through this, I wasn't very much aware HOW much is actually happening. Why is the fight continuing despite Clive already having accepted the truth prior? Why is his younger self coming in and disappearing AGAIN even though he's already accepted it? All because of symbolism. For Clive throughout the entire fight didn't accept it fully. But pressed on forevermore despite how hard it is to accept that he indeed is Ifrit.

Love this game.

"I know the truth of it now. You are not Ifrit.... I am."

With Clive's new fit and that final pose just before the quest is completed, fully solidified Clives as my favorite ff protagonist. Dude, a full-on menace.

Clive’s love for his brother is so pure

This fight got me a noise complaint in my hotel room I was cheering so much!

You know despite Mgrr was older I'd say that the combat seems near identical. Smart choice.

This is literally some Persona 4 type beat and I love it. Facing against a part of yourself that you don't want to believe, and then physically duking it out with a shadow version of yourself, leading to acceptance and gaining newfound power because of it.

My favorite part about the early game and this moment in particular, is that even though all this metaphysical stuff is happening where Clive is literally seeing the truth and fighting himself, there was no magical fuckery behind his denial. It was completely psychological and he had just been running from the truth he knew in the back of his mind for all those years.

It should be a crime for a single part in this game to take the cake on possibly the most epic moment in gaming history and for sure FF as a series!

Just played this yesterday, fucking hell, it's so damn good. I mean ofc it is nothing entirely new (Asura's Wrath, Devil May Cry etc). But paired with the typical FF atmosphere, great graphics and a utterly intriguing story and characters it just feels absolutely on point. Well done SquareEnix!

The music during the second phase is peak, and I can’t be convinced otherwise

Ben Starr truly gave the performance of a lifetime in this game.
The funniest part is that he himself admitted he was afraid of the responsibility and thought Square Enix was going to fire him because he was not good enough XD.
