'whered u get that bag' 'made it myself bitch'
ОтветитьI was browsing through the Internet when I came across your video.
At that time I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, as a career.
Then, when I saw this video, I found it so easy and doable that I wanted to try it out.
Which I did, and it came out so beautiful and well made.
Long story short, it was the beginning of my business. 2 years later, today, this video took me on a journey that I would never have imagined.
It was the beginning of the many big projects that I have received.
For that, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
I’ve seen this on Pinterest well done and a nice gift for guys or any one I can’t wait to try that tool to hammer on the leather. Leather makes it look regal or expensive like a LLBean type 👍
ОтветитьUsing the cutting mat to measure, the waxed canvas and liner are 13.5" x 17" and the zipper is 12".
ОтветитьLovely Bag !!!! So related to your chat about competing with manufactured products. I was gifted at age 12 in 1962 with a very professional sewing machine. Still own that machine & is my still #1 machine to turn to. I now have 3 back up machines to keep it going and use as a semi portable outside in summer. Anyway got my boost into utilitarian sewing with leather, back pack clothes like cordura and coated heavy nylons and light weight coated materials and fabrics and canvas too via in the early 70's Frostline kits arrived. You could make a true down jacket for under 15.00 which was a huge competition at that time for down jackets imported from Europe and just as lovely. Soon was making for others and making own patterns too and at one time in Fort Collins CO you could go to 5 different companies for Down, YKK huge color selection of Zippers, Tandy Leather for hardware like your grommets used here today in your video and heavy snaps too, coated and not coated rip stop and taffeta nylons for jackets. I met my husband now of over 50 years Caving. So of course there were rope pads super thick and tents and sleeping bags as in REAL sleeping bags like you would buy like mummy bags. I still use my down bag my husband made me. He still wears one of his coats I made him. I quickly grew into seeing something and able to make it or better still seeing something I could use or make in my head and making it. One of the last super things I designed and made was a bike trailer case which comes apart and folds up. It is not a bag it's got structured sides and double layered lid that can come off completely and velcro loop all the way around sides and criss crossing the bottom so one can stick in a variety of pockets and pouches and keep say maps or food or light clothing in one specific spot and you can reach from the top layer of the lid down through a second zipper slightly off set to the interior of the case so no need to open part or any of the lid itself from it's secure sides. No wind will blow it off and yet it's only attached by velcro. Hardware and D rings and webbing attach it to the bike trailer frame. Anyway it came out so beautiful and professional and I really just enjoy knowing I still have it so to speak to create something complicated yet simple and so useful while still looking so good. No I'll never make it as a commercial product or even write up a pattern it's too unique and too specific to a not that many style of bike trailes to make that worth while. I like you love to teach. I so appreciate your showing this bag and your adding the leather hardware and pulls and bling at the end. Wonderful share. And though I can no longer compete with imported materials and down and all of that because there is almost a glut on the market I can still enjoy and bring joy to others making something unique or individualized for them. You are precious and may your path forward be so rewarding in all the ways that matter. Your heart and mind too. Love your video it's just so close to home and I needed that today.
ОтветитьBeautiful. I think everyone in my family is going to get one ☺️

ОтветитьThis is the best tutorial I have found on this! I love this lady's amazing, giving attitude also!
ОтветитьCan u teach me pls I love ur bags
ОтветитьDoes this require an hd machine? My singer ses2000 had a tough time with jeans when it hit the seam and had to hand turn the hand wheel. I have a shoe patcher that sews through very heavy leather like a hot knife through butter but wanted to check if I should try with the singer
ОтветитьLuxury...loved this project, Thank you so much for sharing with us!!!!! I can't wait to make one.
ОтветитьThe links dont seem to work - does anyone have an idea of where to buy the leather materials?

ОтветитьI love this! Can't wait to make a wash bag for my mam and boyfriend
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьThis is not really a sewing tutorial, and it's certainly not a beginner-friendly tutorial. Nice bag, and the ideas expressed are worthwhile. I won't use leather (ethically) but it's a simple clean design. I also love waxed canvas.
ОтветитьWhat a great woman!
ОтветитьNice bag design. I think I'll give it a try. I mostly work with leather so here are a few suggestions from that. For a more finished look on the leather pieces one could use an edging tool to round the edges to give a smoother look and feel to the leather. Rounding the corners on the hanging tab on the body of the bag might also help. Lastly adding additional length and riveting the leather hanging tab so a loop stands out proud from the bag helps one use the hanging tab.
ОтветитьI don't have a sewing machine and I don't know how to use one but I watched the entire video because her voice was so soothing and it was so passionate
Ответитьthis is such a beautiful video, thank you for sharing!!
