As a guy who plays Solely Mortal Kombat who had trouble playing street fighter 5(Remind you this was way after they were finished with dlc). Seeing the reveal for SF6 makes me want to give the game another shot and try to become one with the street fighter community and learn the lore and story of the universe. I don't know shit about SF I don't know who or what the World warriors are. But seeing gameplay and how amazing the community is makes me want to get into this and almost makes me more hyped about SF6 then I am about whatever netherrealm is working on currently

Why do not Capcom follow the same marketing strategy as NRS. like revealing a character and its game play with devs breaking the gameplay mechanics each 2 weeks. this way even if leaks go out, people will not be interested to look them up since, they know more info is come coming from Capcom in week or so

🤔 Well to me It feel like they pulled a "Cody" move (In the first game he saved his girlfriend and was a happy dude? Then in the next title of the series Why the heck not just throw the same character in prison? 😜👌 Is the "😳 Nani!" effect on the viewers they want 😂 and besides this art wasn't supposed to be leaked online so to have a major impact upon release you needed something dramatic that also change the story arc)

About why they did this is all conjecture but I believe we must think of Ken as the other side of Ryu (the yin and yang, Red Oni and Blue Oni philosophy) You must look at the design of this 2 characters together but show NOW there is a discrepancy: the 2 pupils started on the same level (If you picked Ryu or you picked Ken well their power moves look the same. They are from the same dojo) but after few years Ryu show up different: in the classic look of a master (They given him more presence with just a piece of cloth that remind you of the shaolin monks = This guy practiced every day and reach a master level of skill in his Haddoken and then they added the beard to make him look more experienced... But not too old, just enough to say he's no more in his 20s) if you do that for Ryu THEN you must do the opposite with the other pupil. For Ken instead you make him look like a bum. This is the pupil who didn't reach the same potential of his friend. But how that happened?

There is the saying "Wear your heart on your sleeve" if we talk about Japanese peoples I would believe is intentional but at the same time is all symbolic. That belt put on the sleeve come from his past clothes and is both a show of commitment to what he want to do: be a fighter. But also doesn't conform anymore to the Normal Canon (is like when a japanese salary man put his tie on his forehead at a party it look ridicolous because is intentionally out of place). The black belt may be interpreted not as the death of a relative (the wife and kid as you think) but as the "death" of his old fighting style. Ken just was put in front of the fact that his friend Ryu is the real master of the Ansatsuken and things are no more like in the past and couldn't keep up with Ryu (regretfully accepted he will never be on par with Ryu if he still kept follow the same path). So he decided to make his own martial art style to become stronger and rival Ryu.

So I believe His wife and kid are still OK (and we just want more behind all of this but the reason is simple: allow the developers to refresh Ken and give him different moves than just be the 2nd in-game Ryu). So to discard the old dojo clothes is just Ken going against his Master teachings (and so becoming a different school of the same style but adopting new moves from different martial arts: learned maybe in the military (as you can see the dog Tags). It make sense: If Ryu look like he trained in the mountains they show you Ken who is half-American sport something that recall: Marine Training. For his modern look They tryed to fit a "what an American dad would look like in his day off?" so they given him a Terry Bogard American Truck driver jacket, running pants for when the wife send him do groceries a black shirt and military dog tags...all there is left of "old" Ken is the belt = his fighting spirit. But the rest changed.

I'm assuming he actually died this time since it looks like Ryu is wearing something similar to goukens outfit, and Ken is wearing the arm band as mourning. I don't think his wife or kid is involved.

Why they hate my boy Ken, they didn’t have to do him THAT dirty and out of nowhere. The other characters look interesting, cane man looks dope. I just wish they showed their veteran character some more respect.

Look, I’d rather die than Ken losing Eliza (at least being divorced). The heartbreak in that regard of such a happy marriage just ending like that… two characters who, while not perfect and not a relationship that should be 100% modeled after (That one random inconsistency that claimed Ken cheats on Eliza comes to mind), the relationship between these two is just amazingly healthy and supportive and I love it.

If they must be torn apart, make it a tragic death, not this bitter painful whimper of an end that falls apart in such flames

I think the battle between Ryu and Akuma is already over and Akuma lost. Akuma is finally at peace having Ryu teach him his way of the true hado and returned to his normal human self. Now both of them has to seek out Ken as he fell into the satsui no hado. Hence violent Ken and the recent pictures that has been floating around. 🤷‍♂️
