Apple’s MagSafe Battery is Trash

The coil is capable of charging both ways, but the magnets won’t align properly with the magsafe charger, the polarity prevents it from doing that, and considering Apple that seems like reasonable enough to not let it charge, even though it might work, perfectionism at play here, it’s simple, you can’t attach 2 MagSafe puks, you can’t attach a magsafe case from the back to the back of the iPhone, it will stick but will not align on the circle, consider it like a male and female adapter (just with magnets), even if Apple enables it to charge wirelessly with magsafe in the future it’ll probably give another magsafe female connection at the backside, but considering that would make things confusing for consumers, I doubt they would do that

This thing is actually sick. Keep it at the house for when guests come over, so you can lend it to that friend who always shows up with 12% battery.

Just bought one - love it. I have the 13 mini, and I’m not upgrading. For longer days where I catch the train this lets me boost the phone’s capacity. Super handy.

Now two years later after multiple battery packs I’m back to apple and it’s my favorite one.

You are missing the purpose of using this device. This isnt to be used like a standard battery bank. Its sad when videos like this get so many views and spread wrong information and data.

He is wrong sorry I get it but he just isn’t using this right I’m not a top tech guy all I know is I use this everyday I wake up with both phone and pack on 100% the pack doesn’t start charging until phone is down to 90% and it just trickle charge to keep it at 90% for at least 8hours so once the pack does die my phone is at 90% for the rest of the day basically the pack last for a normal work shift once I leave work my phone is at 90% bottom line it works you just have to use it right 😂

Magsafe is good for me. Apples IPhones battery sucks,so om happy i got Magsafe.

What a rant!!! I like your content but I don’t share your feelings on this battery. I do agree that it’s WAY overpriced but the functionality for me is perfect since I usually charge my phone every night…this thing just gives me the extra juice I need to get me through a few hours every now and then without cords. I like how I can see the available % when I attach it to my phone but I hate that I can ONLY use it to charge my phone via magsafe unlike the Anker solutions. I really like the way it feels in the hand though, that might be my favorite part but if I hadn’’t gotten this for free, I wouldn’t have any opinion because I wouldn’t know any better.

I miss the days where you could take the batteries out. I used to keep a few of them on me, just change them out if you can’t get to a charger

I hate when I see videos like this because obviously he don’t really understand how to use the product. This product is not a power bank. This product is not meant to charge a product from 0 to 100% constantly if you want that you gotta go buy a power bank and tug that around everywhere you go this product is meant to hold your phone charge throughout the day. The way to use this product. Charge your phone to 90% before u leave the house and put the pack on it will hold your 90 percent charge all through the day and some with extremely heavy use with out having to lug around a power bank

It’s a battery pack not a charging station. Some things aren’t worth worrying about and what you are saying is just that

As unrealistic as this sounds, there’s a very good reason most charging solutions are mildly inconvenient.

You’re not meant to use the phone while it’s charging. In an ideal scenario, you should have the phone laying flat, locked, and on wifi, when charging it. This is when Apple does most background tasks like checking for updates, and backing up files and app data.

Using the phone while charging it can lead to heat issues and inefficient charging as well as preventing the background tasks from working automatically.

wireless charger on iphone is limited to 7.5w, very bad

The best thing is that you need wires to use the wireless charging devices

I like it for my 13 mini. It’s great for when I’m away travelling. Even without a case I never have an issue with it moving around or slipping off my phone. That said, it’s only about 2/3 of the price it was when it originally came out which makes it a bit better value.

dude nobody cares how well apple did with the efficiency of magsafe battery chargers. all they care about it how much % battery it gives them. period. 50% is a fking joke.

I have enjoyed it so far. I just really bought it here in 2023. It’s not meant to charge your phone, but just to extended the phones battery life past what you usually get. Plus the smart charging is so nice. I like that it turns off when it’s at or above 90% any other brands will just kill your phones battery in the long run.

Fair complaints. However, I think overall the product works well. It’s great at the end of the day when battery is starting to die. Also great for days you know a charger won’t be easily accessible.

no because i have the mag safe battery pack. it actually helps my iphone 13 mini last 2 days, it snaps on my case and it doesn’t have any wires

Maybe I’m just used to it but I don’t feel the weight/handling difficulty of these MagSafe batteries unless I’m holding it above my face in a bed.

So I like the idea of Magsafe, because it (in theory) means your cable is less likely to fail. We all know that regular iPhone charging cables might go a year or two before it fails somewhere, often at the connector pins themselves. No pins = less change of the cable failing. But I'd rather just plug a regular Magsafe cable into a basic battery pack. That's as far as I'd take Magsafe. Magsafe wallets and other crap like that is just that: crap.

We have a few of these in the family. They are brilliant for travelling and at home.
My only gripe is I wish it did more than one charge
