I loved early dub - those instrumental backing tracks provided as the B sides of commercial reggae releases. And I love secoond wave dub and dub influenced music that arose in the 90s and is still burnin. But honestly, 80s dub was the pits. Too much weed, too few brain cells. It's influence is enduring and admirable, but the years you are talking about are definitely not "the Golden Age".

In UK punk and reggae went together in the late 70s, as they were both protest music. We all hung out together. From what I remember it was only when the Caribbean Club opened that it changed. Punks weren't welcome.
