ОтветитьHey Jayden, i didnt know about your books sides, i like seeing you talk about, if in real life you enjoy it, then just keep reading tho, i totally encourage you and i get some books have some proper tirely English that we have to read more than once, but then you get it, you understand at the end, soo hmm i dont know im just want to say im pretty impressed by seeing that side of yours ...sorry i pause the vid lol dance camp yay, events are fun, also you said "what you mean i didnt know it all" wait is that about my YT bio news? hmm sweetheart that wasnt meant to say to just only one person but a bunch, i did my best to resume everything there so relax i know you you know, ily :)
Ответитьhi jayden you are my most favourite person. i wish you notice me im jaspal from india also follows you on instagram
ОтветитьI don't think understanding a book is per se a matter of intelligence. I think it's a matter of which words and phrases one's used to. If you read certain books/articles, watch certain movies/tv shows/videos/etc, then you can understand another book/article/etc better, because you know the lingo. Though one might have issues understanding books/articles/etc with a very different style/with different words/phrases/different lingo.
I had almost no issue understanding the passage from "Children of Time", except for one or two words, that I had to look up. And English isn't even my first language.
But that is because I usually don't read/watch/etc based on the content but based on the cast/author. This grants me a huge variation in topics and therefor phrases/words/etc..
I don't consider myself as "very intelligent" or even "very well read" or "well educated". I consider myself as "knowing some things (=more than basic, but far from a lot) about a lot of things" rather than "knowing a lot about some things" (though there are a few topics that I think I know more than average, or even a lot, about).
In my opinion and experience, there is more than one kind of intelligence/being smart.
One can be "school/book smart": knowing all that is taught in school/college. That doesn't mean you're "good in life". Give that a lot you learn is more theoretical than practical, this means that one may know a lot of facts, but one doesn't necessarily know how to apply said knowledge - except flaunting it every so often.
Sadly there are too many who are blinded by pure flaunting, which is why so many "higher ups" in economy and politics fail at their job. They are unable (or unwilling) to adapt beyond their knowledge.
One can also be "street smart", not knowing all or much or what is taught in school, but knowing a lot of "real life facts". This provides a more practical view and appliance of said knowledge (or rather experience). This usually means that people like this are far more able to adapt to whatever issues may arise BEYOND the theoretical optimum.
One can also be "emotional smart" (=having a high EQ). But even without much of "conventional intelligence" or "street smarts", being able to emphasise is another way of gaining "proper" results.
There are other kinds of "intelligence"/"smarts", which are nonetheless important, but usually way less "developed" (or they are so very developed that they are the dominant kind - usually to the detriment of the others).
In theory, the best people in life are those who posses all three (plus the other/minor) qualities.
But practically this depends on where one grew up or at least where you live. Depending ones past and current society, one of the inteliigences/smart is values above all others.
At best one can "exploit" said societies preferences to ones advantage, whilst being [self] aware enough to utilize the other ones to not just further oneselves life but that of the whole of the society as well.
At worst, one "exploits" said societies preferences to ones advantage, but everyone else's disadvantage.
Sadly most people choose their own "advantages" over "the greater good".
-----------------------------
Usually , those who claim "to know best", to know what is "the right/correct" thing, are those who are the most wrong.
In my opinion, those who know that there is no "general"/"overall" right/wrong/correct are the best people. That is because what IS considered "right"/"wrong"/"correct" largely depends on where (county/county/etc) AND WHEN (21st/20th/11th/etc century) one is. Actions, or even thoughts, that are "bad"/"problematic" today might not have been a couple ot decades or even centuries ago. From today's point of view, these should have been "bad"/"problematic" at all, but is wasn't.
Though this doesn't even include other societies in the respective time. Other cultures and religions have other values. And who's to say who's wrong or right,
And who knows which values will be prominent in the future. Whatever one thinks is "right"/"righteous"/"correct" today... who knows what will be considered this in a few decades, let alone a few centuries.
-----------------------------
Personally, I am very aware of these fluctuations/variations. Therefor I have issues taking anyone seriously, who claims to know what is right or wrong.
But due to this I am also extremely open minded and not just tolerant but acceptant/acepting towards almost anything. I don't judge, let alone condemn, anyone for what they prefer/like/etc..
As long as it's consesual (aka without pressure or force), I support one's personal choice/decision/etc - or at the very least i'm not "against it".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am also aware that this is "a lot" to take in. But this is also not an easy topic. And I'm also pretty sure that this isn't "enough". There is soooo much more to say, so many more details to mention/consider, depending on the actual issue/case... yet this is already a lot and covers most of the issues (in my opinion).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even if most people don't agree, I hope that I have caused at least a few people to think about these thing, or maybe, even possibly reconsider their previously fixed way of thinking....

ОтветитьFahrenheit 451 is a classic, and hearing it referred to in the same sentence as TikTok shocked me. But I'm glad the classics are being recommended as well.
