The 8 Steps of Christian Obedience

Wow this said nothing. I’m the end of the day it feels like Christians work hard for God and then give him the credit. I am Christian too and have received no help from God for his obedience (which apparently he’s already given us). Certified goofy.

Our actions become more holy when we decide to deny ourselves and choose to obey God no matter the circumstances.

How to live victorious in the Christian life. Yielded faith to IMMEDIATE OBEDIENCE. OBEDIENCE TO GOD RATHER THAN MAN. Man can only include themselves in this when given the authority by or under God. MAN IS NOT GOD.

Piper leaves out the Active Obedience of Christ. Synergistic sanctification is 💀.

The Spiritual man rests in Christ's active and perfect obedience to God's holy law. Jesus repents, as it were, on behalf of His people. Everything Jesus did on earth sanctifies us by faith. As we receive rest in Christ's perfect obedience, on our behalf because we cannot, Christ imparts His nature to us. He transformed us into His image and empowers our obedience. This is the gospel mystery of sanctification.

As Spirit indwelt believers our best efforts are stained with sin. God is pleased with us on account of Christ's merits. Grace and peace through Christ. It's not our efforts that sanctify us. It's the finished work of Christ, including His obedience to the law, that sanctifies us.

I’m trying to love God, I’m trying to obey Him.
But everything feels like rules. I know it shouldn’t feel that way. I hate myself so much, cause I’m not devoted to Him as I should.
I feel like I’m drowning. I just want to stop living. I hate that I love the world more than God

So it's the power of the Holy Spirit that leads to obedience, not our own power. Therefore, it is the free gift of Salvation, that which we've already attained and can not achieve by works, which will then lead to us being filled with the Holy Spirit and start doing good works.

What are some key points that I can share to my Muslim friend who sees me as a person who found my "inner self" when I've described to her many times that it's not me doing the good deeds, it was by God, Jesus, through the Holy Spirit?
