It took me 8 months to get my sons birth certificate. I was american stationed in germany. I needed it to get the "consulars report of american birth abroad" to get him a passport. I couldnt see my family for a year bc of it. It took the garrison commander calling the mayor to get it done

Story of my life, BUT vice-versa... my husband is Swiss and I am Armenian. We moved to Armenia together as a bf and a gf. Then we got sick of dealing with his temporary residency, we got married, so he gets the permanent one🤭

Though German men seem to be the type to be good or okay when their partner just randomly picks up stuff and tells them we are going to court to get married. 🤣🤣🤣I knew a couple in Canada where the woman told her bf We are getting married and he had the same reaction, but was like, "Cool, okay. Wait what?" That man saved his gfs life because the US health care system suck. Americans marrying Canadians for health care is an actual thing.
