I just watched this movie today. 8/10 for me because this is the first time that I've seen a movie that takes place in one location but you can imagine or visualize it in your mind. It's like a two monitor but the other one is in my head. I hope they show Joe's story at the end. I mean I want to know the full story of his crime. Very good movie 👍👍

Enjoyed it. A bit of a slow burn, but the movie redeems itself. Awesome showcase of Jake Gyllenhaal's talents. If you're wondering about his bankability as lead, I'd watch this. It's a frame story, which is why his character personalizes so much. Minimalist. Single-setting, few on-screen characters besides Gyllenhaal himself. He pulls it off as a seasoned actor, but it isn't for everyone

All im questioning is why didnt the father took any actions of his child oliver..even if he thought he's dead, why didnt he tried saving it by calling ambulance or something

We just get to hear (and not see) Paul Dano? Do we hear him getting beat up in this movie?

This movie is a remake to "The Guilty 2018" but this movie better than the real one , because Jake is a great actor .

How Oliver was murderd is a lot darker than "he was stabbed" Remember the psychotic mother says "he was sick, and she needed to help him, he had snakes in him and she had to take them out" Thats why the cop that found him was screaming "OMG" and almost got sick. Because the "snakes" were his intestines. The mother ripped him open, and pulled his insides out. The first time I watched that scene, and heard her say "snakes" I knew immediately, ad visualized it right away. It made this movie so much darker, intense, and one crazy turn of events. The "snakes" was one thing, but it was the officers reaction that made it clear. Police see bullet wounds, and stab wounds.... but to make you almost puke and have to run out... you can imagine the scene he must have walked in on.
Thats what makes this movie amazing, they don't show you anything, instead its fully up to your imagination. But they still story tell so well, and Jake Gyllenhaal does such a good job that what you visualize is as dark, intense, and thrilling as they want it to be. A1 movie for sure!

I’m about to watch this movie for the first time

I do want to see this version. This is a remake of a Danish film of the same name from 2018 that was at Sundance. It's incredible. I'll have to see how this one compares.

What the hell?
I recently watched a danish movie, called 'Den Skyldige (2018)', which means The Guilty.
So this is a copied movie.
And no, not like The Operator where it's a different plot. This is mostly the same lines and actions 🤯

Don’t waste your time to watch this movie. Boring

I saw the Danish (original?) version of this a few years ago, and gave it a 10 out of 10. When I saw the Netflix remake, I was surprised to see the main character go into the bathroom and literally scream and cry until he puked. Did that happen in the original? I can't remember, not going to pay again. For sure the original was better...WAY better!
