I'd just like to point out that there are or were [I've been away from it for a while] two different IBM mainframe JCL's, one for the MVS type OS and one for the DOS type. Visually they look similar, often with the leading "//" but they are not the same. Technically you're explaining MVS type JCL.

Hi Kumar,   job card should be in 5 fields right. 1.identifier 2.Name, 3. operation 4. operand and 5. comment right. Job , exec, dd are come under operation field right. Operand field contains positional and keyword parameter. Please clarify it.
