Hi Karl I am sorry about the scammers that operate in Sri Lanka whether they be tuk tuk drivers who are some of the biggest or jewellery stores or some street merchants at markets or paying for pricey foods or soverniours ,,Always agree on a tuk tuk price before getting into unmetered tuk tuk s and don’t agree to a open ended trip that will take you to so many other tourist places that you may not want to visit,,Karl saying that not all people are out to rip off everyone just the bad minority gives the legit ones the country a bad name ,I LOVE MY MOTHERLAND SRI LANKA AND ALL TOURIST ENJOY YOUR EXPERI😮ENCEAND TAKE HOME GOOD MEMORIES OF SRI LANKA ,❤❤❤😅
ОтветитьI mean tbh it could be a real buisness. There are tons of people lost when they are visiting other countries. Is there a problem to be upfront about it? Like "I work as an idependent tourist guide. There is an extra charge for me showing you around and the Riksha driver waiting and stuff." Phrasing it this way seems legit. Pretending to just doing it out of joy not.
ОтветитьIt is better for u to do it in your country ..in newzealand they earn in this way same thing happens in newzealand
ОтветитьThis guy valued this little gem at 2000$, then made you special prize 1000$ and when you were about to leave, he offered you 100$. Don't they realize how ridicoulous their scams are?
ОтветитьI like how he says the gem has a "lifetime guarantee" as if its going to stop working or something lol
ОтветитьAs a Sri Lankan I can tell you that no local in Sri Lanka would actually bother to show a foreigner around the city in a guy's rickshaw during his lunch break like that guy did. Most people wouldn't even bother to come up to a foreigner and say Hi.
if you encounter someone who comes up to you telling about the places you can visit in the city without you even asking is absolutely a guy who wants to milk you out of your money.
On the other hand if you ask someone who's walking down the street for directions or advice most people would happily help.
Stay safe.
He Angrez man your Dad
ОтветитьI think 20 usd is fair to be driven around as a tip 7 dollars in usd sucks for a tip
ОтветитьI have seen this scammer guy in another tourist video too. ☹️☹️☹️
ОтветитьNumber one rip offs 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThanks - For the Good advice — Many tourists will appreciate your video on these scammers tricks !
ОтветитьA lot of them are like that up there ,☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ Even when they said "sorry" it's not mean they are sorry but it's mean they need to ask something from you , don't go there anymore really bad experiences , ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️👹👹👹👹👹👺👺👺👺👺👺👺☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️👹☠️☠️☠️
ОтветитьAs a sri Lankan even a sausage is like 250 because money rate went up because Sri Lanka got bankrupted and ever since this is what is happening
ОтветитьI was planning to go to Sri lanka for holiday next year but i´m afraid of being scammed so i booked a ticket to Egypt instead for 2 weeks, hopefully they are more honest over there 😇
ОтветитьDo you have health issues when you was talking to camera your eyes look like your sick?
Ответить15 bucks
Ответить"Let's go catfish a scammer!" Stands up "Hey bro!" Do you ever encounter anyone NOT running a scam? Honestly that would be the real story!
ОтветитьThis same scammer I spotted on some other vlogger's channel
ОтветитьHe's not a tour guide but he's giving you a tour. Lol. So when somebody comes to you acting friendly you should run? All the people in Sri Lanka look bad because of these people. Pretty sad.
ОтветитьRs. 4800 is $80 CAD.
ОтветитьI just subscribed crazy how you put yourself in danger to expose this scumbags
ОтветитьSo why would anyone want to visit India ? Sounds like a vacation from hell.
Ответитьwhen i hear india ...scam scam scam scam
ОтветитьLucky that Karl is a chill guy. If the scammers don't stop then one day they'll try to scam the wrong person and might accidentally fall out off the ricksaw or get their head smashed on the sidewalk...
ОтветитьSri Lanka is a very poor country
ОтветитьSwhat don't lie you are a scammer. Our tuks are filling apart with no money to live or do hires and no money to fill gas
😢
But you're so hard too
ОтветитьWhy on earth is that driver wearing a shirt that says Star Wars? That’s not the attire of a professional driver. It also disturbs me that Star Wars is the brand name of a multi billion dollar corporation’s intellectual property, and the peasants that wear it are the type of people who barely have enough money to scrape by.
ОтветитьI would never spend that kind of money on a gem, and simply take the seller’s word that the price and quality of them gem are accurate. You spend a thousand dollars on a gem, only to have it appraised later at $100
ОтветитьI would never set foot in that country
ОтветитьUnfortunately scammers exist, but i will say sri lankan people are very kind generally.
ОтветитьSame guy who tried to scam dale in 2019

Sounds like a 'Shithole Country'😢
ОтветитьI could never go to India! I can’t handle people begging or scamming.
ОтветитьI wish you would have talked to them in Indian at the end to show them you weren’t a tourist and caught them scamming people
Ответитьwoow using yea nah is crazy funny
ОтветитьThis is why everybody I know REFUSES to travel to India lol, relentless people with no consideration, and EVERYONE IS A RIP OFF SCAM SRTIST, crazy no thank you
ОтветитьIf it's worth 6X time the $ in N.Z. WHY NOT SELL THERE ?
Ответитьunless things changed, tuk tuk's have meters so you just pay actual distance. the turtle hatchery in colombo seemed like a sca,m also. friendly guy on beach shows you place and you decide to give a donation 2- 3 dollars towards the place but they then show you donations range from 50 usd and up.
Ответитьio love when india sales people pull out the calculator math the hell out of nothing and givee you a total that would get them fired if the boss saw
ОтветитьWere those gems completely fake?
ОтветитьWhat to do people do not have money ? They will do it
Ответить4,800 rupees is less than $15 US. That seems pretty reasonable to me
ОтветитьSame thing happening in tulum/Cancun area if you have a gringo face everybody try to rob you off
ОтветитьSame thing happened to me, i got scammed still it makes me angry
ОтветитьIt was weird when you said Namaste in Sri Lanka. But avoid three-wheel drivers. They also scare random shopkeepers into giving them money. So stop further away from a shop but don't go into the parking with the three-wheel driver. Go on your own. Tell the driver to leave. Go to the shop that you want. Get the Pickme app on your phone and never take these random tuk tuks. I'm a local and a pickme takes 180 rupees but a scammer took 1800. I was shocked.
Ответить
