I suspect Zelenskyy is playing the russians, Americans & all UA donors south & west of Poland (other than Italy) saying he considers Ukraine lose lands for peace. Losing them would be a seeping wound to Europe & America too and they know it. In the balance is the sharp but inevitable dissolution of what’s called Russia or the longer demise of the rule of law. The law which has profited the world and lifted it out of poverty & starvation. Trouble is most ‘Western’ politicians only think about the next four years, Moscovia plans in decades.

Great to hear HBG on Syria. I have been following a couple people from there for awhile. The interviews from the members on HTS, and the interviews with people on the ground including Christians and Kurds was vastly different from what alot of the media was portraying them as. They have been helping to rebuild Christian churches and giving back Christians that fled during the civil war back their homes. I think alot of the issue is many in the West do not understand the differences between groups and do not feel like peoples views can change. And one thing HTS has been saying for the past 2 years is that they are fighting the same evil as Ukraine. The 2 fights go hand in hand. Not every country is meant to be a democracy. And not every democracy will be the same. Alot of people there feel like they were forgotten. While HTS may not be ideal for us, they are much better than the other groups. And picking the lesser of evils is something everyone who votes should understand. One of the interviews with one of the leader said change has to be gradual. If they flipped a switch and said it time for a democracy and tried to "Westernize" it would lead to a rebellion and chaos.

From Ukrainian sources: between 200 and 250k Ukrainian soldiers have deserted from the army. If the west doesn't provide troops, Ukraine will collapse. They cannot defend their country and require foreigners to do it for them.

I feel compelled to remind Dominic of the political struggle going on here in the US and how the right-wing in this country have been trained by Putins best friend (Trump), to want nothing to do with Ukraine. Ukraine is associated with Hunter Biden here in the US. Trumpists are compelled to hate Hunter (and by extension, Ukraine) second only to Hilary Clinton. In an effort to try to win a desparate electoral race, the Democratic Party had to play down Ukraine in an effort to gain more voters. A month ago, the US president could not be seen to be giving even more aid to Ukraine. Now, a month later it no longer matters. America will, once again, be ridiculed as we leave the world stage.

Germany should/is( be ) grateful for being allowed to unify! Russia left East Germany in a very peaceful way and according to final agreements made!
