Can you copy TD9 kits to TD17?

Anyone know if we can play MP3 backing track on the TD-17? If we can, could you please tell me how?

Just picked the TD-17 up and really enjoying its simplicity and power.
Yes, you absolutely can load in your own .WAV file songs. The stock songs are definitely pretty weak. The TD-1 has much better songs (and practice modes).

Had to do FOH sound for a band that used a stock kit without tweaking the kit and it sounded like shit and it was almost ruining my entire band mix.
Next time i'll make sure we take the time to tweak the kit to make it it decent for the FOH sound.

I bought this kit a couple of years back to be used strictly for recording (I’m primarily a keyboardist), and I’m wondering if there’s a setting to adjust the amount of pan placement for each tom? For example, I want to be able to hear the toms hit (in your speakers/headphones) from left to right.

Also, I’m hearing a tom triggering whenever I [accidentally] hit the bell of two of the ride cymbals. I tried to troubleshoot by disconnecting the tom I hear, but that didn’t work.

Hey Man. Always appreciate your videos. Got a question if you don't mind. I have a TD-25 and I'm looking to expand to add more triggers. A friend recommended getting the TD-17 and connecting the TD-25 to it add 9 more triggers. Problem is I see the TD-17 is less expensive than the TD-25 which causes me to be a bit hesitant. I don't want to spend $800 for a module that's less than the TD-25. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

You talk too fast and generalize everything instead of showing what to do slow as well as in depth. I have more questions than answers as a result.

How do I assign individual sounds to lets say the Tom rim and and head?

For anyone looking: The TD-17 doesn't let you send click to only headphones, so you're going to get that metronome on everything. Not sure why Roland decided to not include that feature, but it's certainly not selling me on a TD-27 (which does support it).

Can you import songs from an sd card to the module to play with or can this only play with the song from the sd card or Bluetooth

Is it possible to run the main mix into my headphones to use as a monitor?

Hi 65 drums I have a problem I recorded a track for myself and the want to download ot to my phone do you know how to do it?

Is there a way to set it up to where one pad will mute the other pad when hit? For instance, I have a 808 style bass drum in the key of B on my mid tom, and one in the key of E on my low tom. These sustain for a bit, and remain in key. When I hit the B note Right after the E they clash. I want to set it up to where the mid tom pad will mute the low tom pad when hit. Is this possible?? Important info J, tnx. A fun and pretty useful short cut - ENTER + CLICK - starts the metronome straight off, no click menu needed! (I actually found it by looking for this feature guessing it should be there) I would be happy to hear more about importing sounds for the td17, besides the ones people tweak out of the Roland sounds, if you have any recommendations that would work for this module! Tnx!

I’m have an issue where my phone audio is much quieter then the kit so its hard to hear and play along to a song

Another is I feel my kit doesn’t sense 16th notes well, as i cant tell if because i’m actually not hitting the pads or it doesn’t sense each hit

What does strainer do exactly? I don't notice any difference in my TD17 when I change all the way to tight at all.

Awesome tutorial, thanks! My son has attempted recording with his TD17KVX module but always has issues with distortion, particularly with the bass drum. Do you use specific sensitivity settings for your pads to get distortion - free recordings?

Tip for editing the stock kits: if you get lost and want to reset one kit without resetting the entire module, you can do that. Other-Copy, then press the middle button for "Preset" and press enter. This will reset that kit to the factory preset, but will not affect any other setting on the module!

where to get samples?

I have the td17. I want to ask if there is China sound and splash on td17. And if so how can I find these sounds?

This module can accept dual zone or tripple zone triggers correct?
