BEARD VS MATT STONIE...AND OTHER EQUALLY IMPORTANT EATERS | NATHAN'S FAMOUS HOT DOG CONTEST 2019

Evening folks! Welcome to another video, I really hope you enjoy it. My main focus with this episode was to really show what it’s like being part of the biggest eating contest on earth, so there’s a lot more behind the scenes/vlog style footage than usual.

Sadly ESPN enforced a ‘no cameras on stage’ policy this year, meaning none of the eaters could get any footage up close at the table. Still, thanks to my mate Bob Shoudt and in part Mrs Beard, we managed to cobble together some footage of the contest. It might be a little hectic, but I’m sure you’ll still get the idea!

Finally, thanks to everyone for all the messages of support. I found the conditions and whole scope of the event really quite formidable, but I gave it my all, and you can be sure I’ll be back next year after plenty of practice!

I think I like eating contests because the amount of food consumed is obscene...a distortion of reality, when you consume more than necessary to live. The lust for fame and money in the natural world I guess. Trying not to over think things here...

This type of contest is fairly unique due to the very low time limit. Only certain competitive eaters show their strength in these frenzied types of contests. I bet if they had a separate challenge that was 30 minutes all you can eat, I bet The Beard would beat some big names. Even he said himself that he didn't necessarily feel full after the Nathan's challenge. It's the speed factor that thwarts some from just chewing and swallowing them in time. If it was all you can eat over 30 minutes, The Beard would be a VERY dangerous opponent, lol.
