Rick this is wonderful! Seeing the men move about reminds anyone that they were real people, not just black and white images in an old history book. I have an interest in American Civil War as well as WW2 and what I came to learn was that many of the photos were taken with stereophonic cameras and finally a book came out that had a stereophonic viewer and those pictures came to life! So thank you for what you are doing!

Wow! Ive been watching this stuff since little…i was born only 26 years after ww2 ended, but this is by far the best enhancement of video ive ever viewed. Ive seen much of the same video as have many of you, but not so clear and colorful…literally makes it appear as if it’s happening in real time. Neat…humbling.

When you think of the awesome planning and implementation of the allies, plus the terror the men and woman went through, all to preserve freedom, it is disgraceful that all which was fought for, is this very day being attacked, not by an invading army, but by a clandestine group of world-wide politicians who form the new world order, to attack us from within, to tear down our national identities, to turn our societies in on themselves.

My grandpa was a coxswain on a Higgins boat off the USS Samuel Chase (APA-26). He made 14 runs into the beach that first day bringing troops of the Big Red 1 ashore at Omaha.

My grandmother was a switchboard operator for AT&T when the war started. She then moved over to bomb making factories out of Jacksonville Fl.. That lady had some amazing stories to tell. Not a day goes by that I don't think about and miss her... Love ya grandma!

Don’t forget, US troops had already landed in Italy the year before D-day, which opened a second front in the soft underbelly of Europe. The landings at Normandy on D-day opened a THIRD front against Hitler and his occupying forces. D-day was not the opening of a second front as stated in this video.

My Dad who passed in November of 2006 served in the Pacific theatre. He was a diesel mechanic on LST 763. He said he got sea sick everyday until his body acclimated to the sea. I miss my Dad. The greatest generation!

My father went over on a landing craft illegally and was arrested several days later on his return.

I've watched documentaries on WWII for decades, but seeing that same footage with computer colorization is even more dramatic and humbling.
