Hi Ben, I just sign up with National Debt Relief two days ago. I am 83, on a fixed income and I'm embarrassed to say I am 76000 in debt. I am not behind on any payments but am getting nowhere in reducing my balances since the interest rates are so high. I'm very uncomfortable to think about not making payments Any suggestions since the program hasn't started yet!?

I'm looking into a company called New Start Capital and they keep telling me they do "debt modification " and they claim it's different from the debt settlements. Yet when they explain the program to me it all sounds the same. Have you heard of "debt modification" ? I feel like they are just using a different term to swindle me into doing it.

Not and never been in debt thankfully but I find personal finance in general and just knowing to be reassuring for myself (hopefully never have to use it) but also to help others :)

Almost signed up with Credit Associates after having a call and realizing I could potentially save $8000 while making a much smaller monthly payment. They didn't say anything about the likelihood of a lawsuit!! That is a hard pass for me. I'll continue to try and make the payments on my own.

I might be too late. I've just started with Accredited debt relief. Although I havent made any payments yet. Im about $16,000 in credit card debt over 5 accounts. As it stands, I havent had any late payments but i didnt want to take decades to pay off the debt. After having gone through the sign up process im having doubts that this was the right call. Any thoughts or pointers?

Hello Ben. I'm interested in a Debt Relief Loan where I just get a lower rate than the 26% BS the companies charge and the rate keeps moving which completely BS. I just want to pay it down with a reasonable rate and be done with it. I have about 20 K credit card debt and intend to Never use them again unless some drastic event. I have a 688 credit score and make very good money still but in the current Horrible economy it doesn't go nearly as far as it should. I will call.

you should also note that bankruptcy will not allow you to apply for an offer in compromise with IRS. most likey if person has credit card debt, there is a high chance that they also owe back taxes with IRS

I should’ve seen ur vid before I signed into debt relief. I’m getting sued by 3 companies, program gets 25% which I found out later, plus 2 creditors didn’t want to negotiate and program wanted me raise my monthly payments from $851 to $1,711. I said I couldn’t afford that so they took the 2 creditors out and told me to call them and negotiate myself. It’s the worse. Oh and one more thing I didn’t miss a payment in 10 years, but I was only paying minimum payments. My credit score was over 700 but now sense they told me to stop payments my credit is at 540

Any idea which route I should go? I’m a retired vet on a fixed income with 2 loans @ $10k each, plus a maxed out credit card for $20k all thanks to my ex wife🤦🏼‍♂️
We both occurred the debt but it was all in my name so I got stuck with it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated to help get me out of this $40k hole. Thanks

I don’t want all the negatives of the debt program. I’d rather just pay more than the minimum to my card companies. I wish I could get approved for a loan for the low interest rate and use the money to pay my cards.

How can you do debt relief if you move outside the US? I have to leave the country to go take care of an aging parent, but I'll most likely be returning in a few years. I don't want to return to my credit score completely destroyed. Can you do a video on that?
