This may be the most accurate theory. I had my theories that the prototype is Sawyer, merged with the prototype and sharing his consciousness with the creatire he tortured, after the founders merged him as punishment for the theatre incident. I thought he may have merged with factory technology somehow as a creature tech hybrid, like the prototype, giving him the ability to watch us through security systems. But this is better, miles better.

Random theory, since we are all too familiar with originating as a human being, then transformed in doll/toy bodies, what if in the midst of experimenting, a toy gained consciousness on its own - it has no prior human soul, it became an actual living being on its own. And since you mentioned that they may be trying to revert the process of transforming from being toys to becoming humans once again - what if this alive toy, was secretly transferred in a human body (maybe its us - our player identity). That's why despite being an ex-employee, we aren't familiar nor fully recognize everything about Poppy Playtime co. Every toy knows the employee identity of your body, and the player who is occupying it does not know about this. (just my thoughts-just my thoughts).

I think the statement that “one breakthrough and I’ll be back” was meant to be that he would be back to working in another company without any issue. Maybe he could be apart of the security system

I think poppy will be on her own/nuetral side wanting whats best for the children or toys

Also the bron bit at the start really made me think I really hope they do something with bron, cat bee etc from chapter one that we’ve never seen or really have been referenced properly instead of just introducing more and more characters in the next chapter (obviously they’ll introduce some new characters but i hope we get a bit if love for the unused ones)

...uh..if the prototype is a good guy why did he straight up murder catnap?..

What if the character your playing is that crazy doctor, like split his mind in another body when a word is said or maybe to try and take a new human body.

i think that we play as dr white because he was the one to select the kids who were ready for the transfer process and that means he was involved directly with the experiments after he realized the reason kids were going through this process he most likely felt horrible and left the factory but after the hour of joy he recived the tape and letter and decided to go back and avenge the kids that suffered.

I wouldn't be surprised if we aren't actually the first employee to return to "save" everyone, but rather the first one to make it this far. Why else have warning signs about Poppy? We're the first one to escape from and eventually beat Huggy, to free Poppy, to kill Mommy Longlegs and Catnap and make it as far as we have. We are "too perfect to lose" because we will be able to free Sawyer and may be the perfect subject to make the ultimate living toy, his ultimate achievement. Maybe Poppy made a deal with Sawyer but need another employee for some reason, if even just to do the heavy lifting because Sawyer is trapped and Poppy, Ollie, and Kissy Missy aren't strong enough to do what we can. Especially since we must've been involved with the experiments since so many of them recognise us, so maybe Sawyer has used Poppy and the others to lure countless employees to the factory and either they failed and tied up Sawyer's loose ends for him, or succeeded and will end up freeing the real monster like us. We think the Prototype is the villain and is trying to hurt us, but in actuality he is trying to SAVE us and has given us every chance to leave since Huggy, Mommy, and Catnap all gave us a chance to leave and we killed them.

Crazy longshot about ollie, what if he is an orphan from 10 years ago, still there?

What if Poppy and 1006 are the same person? But they are separate parts of the same personality. That's why it was a poppy doll used and why she changed her attitude about letting you leave and using you to end everything. It's a thought I had, but I can't see it being true, as we haven't seen any signs of this. It would be interesting though, as it could mean that the bigger bodies program was bigger than we imagined.

Hey, ive got a theory on the game and the following text is on the levels of the paragraph guy, so read at your own discretion i guess.

First, I think the prototype was Elliot's son. There's no evidence suggesting Elliot's child was a girl for one and it just makes sense in context. "The Prototype" suggests that he was the first and the only real candidate for the first experiment is elliots dying kid. This also aligns nicely with ollie being the prototype theory. Also, i like to think Elliot's son was just smart and clever.

Poppy would probably be the second or something, judging from the cut voicelines saying that because of her, so many suffered. This could be a favor trick for us, or its the truth because of harley. Sure, the prototype might have been the first but poppy could have been proof that it wasn't just lightning in a bottle. Really, poppy can be anyone, it might not matter.

There is one point id like to bring up though. In chapter 3, dogday mentioned how we were Poppy's angel. That suggests that he met poppy, most likely before the hour of joy. Poppy is very much two faced, but it also brings up the problem of why people keep trusting her, and I'd like to bring up how she has poppy scented hair.

Catnaps gas (most likely comprised of poppy flowers) not only caused nightmares, but hallucinations. What if poppy has a similar effect, simply calming everyone around her so they're more likely to trust her. It might also explain why she was in the case, cause she began trying to overthrow the prototype, and he realized poppy was too dangerous to be left free. This would explain why all the toys fear the prototype, saying stuff like how the prototype molds other toys to himself. That was poppy's propaganda.

And going back to dogday and catnap, i wondered why if the prototype was obsessed with the safety of the toys, why did he let Dogday suffer? After some thinking, i Probably figured that catnap didn't reveal everything he was doing to the prototype, and the prototype might have had bigger things to worry about, so catnap went on a spree killing those he deemed heretics, without the prototype noticing, and if he found out, he probably would have figured dogday was also dead.

This leads me to my last theory that the prototype is collecting bodies to try and save them from death. He probably just keeps them safe while he trouble shoots it... Okay, i admit that one might be more coping than my previous theory's cause i want to see the smiling critters, but its still very plausible and something i believe he would do.

The moment you mentioned "inanimate objects' I was violently reminded of how Armin Zola survived by having his brain and thoughts scanned into a primitive computer and he infiltrated and how he used SHIELD like a puppet...

I was showing my partner this video because I'm still so flabbergasted how perfectly things would fall into place, and we had a thought. When Mommy says "No, you'll make me part of him," well, if you're right and the Prototype is trying to free everyone/find a peaceful resolution, the "him" wouldn't likely be the Prototype, but HARLEY. THAT would be enough to terrify anyone, regardless what side (if any) they are on. The Prototype may be working on building himself up, but it's likely that Harley is too.

The specific mention of the religious aspects of poppy flower usage may be an indicator that at least one of the original transfers may not have resulted in a revival of the deceased but the incarnation of something from the other side. Maybe Poppy was the original desparate resurrection attempt that unbeknownst to Elliot became an invocation...
