The PERFECT Camera Rig!

Hey! I'm really interested in this side handle solution due to huge lenses with insane throw. Have the nano lying around, therefore that might be the perfect solution for stability and focus control. As it seems the handle is discontinued. Do you know any alternative handles that do the same thing? I don't find anything comparable on the tilta homepage. or maybe I'm blind. Would be nice to get your feedback. :-)

With the SmallRig quick-release - could you rotate it 90 degrees on the rod baseplate, and then when you remove the cage sideways (instead of forward) you can put it straight on an RS3 Pro gymbal? 👀

one question , if my monitor and camera have different voltage is it bad to connect them directly to the battery with D-TAP splitter or shall I be aware of something? or shall I get a v mount plate with the different voltage inputs?

Hello, I love your channel. Please I have a question for you, I would like a rig for filming POV videos, my partner has to record me while you know what. So hand held is a bit inconvinient for him, after a while his hand/hands get tired, also being very close there are issues with the quality of recording. What would be the best POV setup for DSLR sony A7s3 in order to shoot erotic stuff. I would love if his hands were free all the time, so that you know what I mean. Thank for your video, although my 1st rig build on Canon R6 Mark II. My priority is mounting a shotgun MIC, and monitor. Finger focus and shoulder pad and front handels later. Am I able substitute, Kessler Crane K-Plate Kwik Release Plate from B&H, ($139.) ? I have a Dovetail tripod. Suggested items, small rig base plate, SmallRig Quick Release Arca-Type Base and Plate, and Kessler Crane Kwik Stand, ($173,) I'd delete from my order. Im trying to save money but I'd like a quick solution from Tripod to Hand Held video.

Not sure if a rig can be cslled perfect when you carry 5 Kilos of weight in front of you. In my life as a documentary camera operator this would would probably start to hurt somewhere between hour 3 and 12 of my workday.

How does this rig compare to the Tilta kit c?

Calling this "perfect" overlooks one of the most important benefits of professional cameras: reliable, locking connections.

If you are doing any kind of run and gun/documentary work, consumer connections like USB, HDMI, and 3.5mm phono are a huge point of failure that can't stand up to the bumping, jiggling, rain and dust you'll encounter in the field. Another thing that may not be important to you, but is for any kind of professional work is the ability to integrate a sound mixer into your workflow. Does your setup have space to (comfortably) attach a wireless audio receiver? Is it timecode capable? Do you own the weird proprietary timecode cable your camera needs? (I'm looking at you, FX3 owners) If the answer to any of those is no, you owe the editor a nice dinner.

Looking to build this for a ZV-E10. Where would you suggest to install a wireless receiver like the Hollyland Lark 150 on the rig?

can i rig this quick release base sideways on the baseplate thru the 3/8" and a 1/4"? I was hoping to eliminate the need for another arca plate since the fx30/fx3 cage can already be mounted sideways thru an arca qr base. from where i'm from i can't do a trial and error since our return policy only covers manufacturer defects and the arca qr plate is a little too expensive for us in the thirdworlds

I just bought and returned the Portkeys viewfinder suggested in this video. I wear glasses and find you really need a big eye cup in order to position your eye exactly so that there are no light leaks nor any distortion. My glasses are a similar shape as Caleb’s. So my question to Caleb or any glasses wearer is how do you deal with this? Thanks!

Lovely run breakdown, like it, nice refinements etc :) However depends on the type of shooting you do. I do a ton of presenter and dialog reality TV shooting and you cant shot from the waist and chest height like you hold your camera. I need eye-line from shoulder all the time for long exchanges of dialog otherwise you end up shooting up peps nose all day long. Im intrigued by the EVF you have, will look into that...I assume it would work on FX3 also? Cheers :)

Hey Caleb, love your work and content. Wanted to ask you if you have any experience with Anton/Bauer Base kit rigs? Let's say we're not using any undercarriage rods, what's you opinion on having an Anton/Bauer style battery or v mount battery in general under the camera rather than behind the camera? Would love to know your insight.

If you want to see a real cool camera set up, check ARRI SR II and also ARRI SR3. Compact and just great. Well balanced with a great optical viewfinder in just the right place. Nothing modular, no choices, just a simple while well thought tool. Think that’s the most fun cameras I worked with

Hey i really like your rig. I want to upgrade my rig to vmount powered, but i want to know, how low my vmount battery is. Do you have ja advise or product you can recommend? The FXLION or SmallRig vmount with display are to expensive for me. I rather would like to have a vmount plate with current status. Do you know a good plate?
