Wait... I've been playing sax for over 20 years now. (Love the albums in the background btw. "I'm an Old Cowhand From The Rio Grande". One of my favs)
This video just helped with a nagging light pressure and numbness in my left hand pinky and ring finger I've had for over 10 years. Thanks!
You look a bit like Pierre Richard!
ОтветитьThank you am in pain m taking these exercises
ОтветитьWhat if all fingers are numb? Started with the pinky and progressed to rest of the hand.
ОтветитьThere’s a myofascial release, move to do to your hand and your arm. For carpal tunnel syndrome;where you Squeeze the hand and the forearm sliding down and holding the hand pretty firmly tight and keeping a firm grip as you slide all the way down towards the elbow. Once you slide and hold you bend the top of your hand backward at the same time. I hope you can understand.
Ответитьthank you--hoping this will help. I'll think something helps, then it comes right back, but keeping hoping here
ОтветитьI just did each of these exercises and wow, the relief is amazing
ОтветитьOh GOD!!! I’m an artist- actually a face painter and my whole arm is numb- just the elbow to my wrist-
I’ve had carpal tunnel - so I KNOW nerve pain.
This was like a voila moment.
It’s only my left arm though-
No not heart related..
I KNOW what nerve pain feels like..
Like I hit my funny bone and the pain will not subside.
My entire forearm is numb and tingles at touch.
Thank you for theses exercises-
My pinky finger and my arm feels better just after a couple days of stretching
It is called the funny bone because when you hit it everyone else laughs.
ОтветитьWhat if you have soft memory foam arm rests at work are those okay?
ОтветитьI kept expecting this bloke to suddenly make a balloon animal, or something....
ОтветитьThank you for sharing with us this video which is helpful for me.
ОтветитьI have a lot of problem a lots of pins and needles along most I shall try doing this.
ОтветитьI'm so glad you made this video. Super insightful and helpful. I've been experiencing Cubital tunnel syndrome for 5 months now. Im a guitarist/pianist, skater and video editor so those have probably all contributed to it. Its starting to get worrying especially for the piano playing when doing thumb and pinky octaves with right hand. Also have less control when doing noodling without a pick. My surf rock band "Mr Koo" play a few live shows per month here in Hong Kong. Hopefully these nerve glides will help to improve the movement and give full feeling back to my right pinky. Thanks for the tips.
Ответитьfun fact...not only do I have that same sonny rollins record, but my first job was at jazziz back in the late 90s, and am staring at the louis armstrong legacy jazziz cover that i've got framed on my wall. I am a musician and my right hand wrist and elbow are effed from focal dystonia and RSI. thanks for the share, it was very encouraging. might give these exercises a try again.
ОтветитьHow many times a day do you do these exercises?
Ответитьsir I have been this in a same problem for Last 4 months, I was consulted many neuropathy Dr, they are suggest only tablets but no curable. my left hand fingers also no grip and weakness plz help me what I do
ОтветитьSo i have this pain too espescially when i am doing bicep curls or when i try to face my palm up, what do you think i should do? Am i supposed to stop doing some bicep curl??
ОтветитьI have struggled with ulnar tunnel syndrome for almost two decades. I've kept playing music anyway, resting for a couple weeks once I get tingling again or numbness. Once you start feeling numbness, what would you advice? How long should one rest before trying these excercises and perhaps going back to the instrument? Also, may sitting on a hard chair have any effects? Thank you!
ОтветитьHey man I'm experiencing numbess in fingertip only like loss of sensation like something is Ballon up when touching but no pain i don't know what to do now i put pressure on my fingers by lifting some heavy grocery bag and i start to feel numbness in ring finger of right hand in fingertip area only rest of the finger parts are fine i want to know how long it will take to heal my ring finger tip?
ОтветитьThank you so much it helped a tooooon
ОтветитьI don’t think I’ll fix mine ever my nerve is below my elbow inside tucked in and compared to my other arm which is normal my good arm the nerve is on my elbow and not going anywhere when I do this on my bad arm which is my left I can feel it sliding around in the slot under my side elbow I don’t think it will ever adjust back or fix I can try to pick it up and place it back but that doesn’t work i think mine wil be like this forever damn
ОтветитьI have this cubital tunnel issue in my right elbow causing my middle finger to feel a little tingling but the worst part is my right little finger & that same side of my right hand. My little finger is extremely numb & so much so that if I'm typing on my PC keyboard I can't feel any keys that are typically activated using the little finger. I think your video is extremely helpful but I'm just getting started with the exercise routines but I can definitely feel the stretching of the ulnar nerve with each routine. I know that my primary issue is applying pressure on my elbow whenever I'm seated with my right elbow constantly resting on the sofa's armrest. I will soon be seeing a physician at the Mayo Clinic to help positively diagnose the issue & hopefully get me on the proper track towards healing. I will likely mention your beneficial online video.
Thanks from Steve M.- another "goofy dad" 😊
I have been struggling with Cubital tunnel syndrome in both elbows since February. I've been stretching, doing nerve glides, sleeping with braced elbows, and I've recently quit my old job where I was doing repetitive motions and lifting heavy items for three years, and that job didn't help things. I am also a gamer.
I've been doing everything right, and the and tingling comes and goes at times. But it feels like it'll never go away, and I'll never be able to play guitar or piano ever again because it'll just keep aggravating my condition.
Could anyone give me any advice or wisdom to help me through this dark-patch?
The "funny bone" is a play on words, because it involves the humerus.
ОтветитьMine came on in my left hand about three months ago. Right now I have no feeling in my pinky and half of my ring finger on the pinky side. After watching your video I realized that I’ve been running into this in both arms for years. Both my pinky and ring fingers would go completely numb if I had them bent too long. I thought it was just bad circulation, so thank you for taking the time to make this video and explain how to help. I’ll be starting these exercises and will provide an update in a few weeks.
ОтветитьI see my cousin on your Wall. "Monk"
ОтветитьThank you for the detailed video!
I had no symptoms whatsoever until I had a long session on my computer while I rested my head on my palm and my elbow on the desk to support it, when suddenly - I can't feel my pinky and ring fingers!
It's been about a month now and it is slowly getting better and better! I try keeping my elbow at a neutral position and sleep with a brace but it's still not gone ):
Does that count for cubital tunnel syndrome? Will it go by itself or should I worry?
Thanks in advance!
Hey there. I’m 15 and have this (self diagnosis) and have had it for a while now (up to 2 yrs). I try preventing methods like taking breaks etc but I’m just not sure if it will be permanent. I’ve searched and it says it’s extremely rare in adolescents so I’m not sure. Giving the fact that I’m young, would I need surgery? I really wouldn’t want it at such a young age . I’m not sure if using a laptop worsens it because I take regular breaks and use a good posture. Any help?
ОтветитьThis is helpful even if not explicitly for music, though I play guitar and use my computer so I get double the strain lol, amazing video
ОтветитьI think this is happening to me right now or ulnar entrapment. I had an electrical shock in my elbow yesterday and the inside of my biscep is sore and my ring finger is numb. Thank you for this help! I don’t want to go to the doctor if I can heal it on my own
Ответитьclear and helpful. thanks.
Ответитьup tonight with the numb fingers and in need of an elbow splint for sleeping. thanks for the stretches, it helped a lot
ОтветитьI have prior injuries (bone deep cuts) that severed muscle and nerves in 2005. Lots of exercises are hard to do since i can't pivot wrist
ОтветитьI have it right now. waiting on a brace. some of the worst pain ive experienced. I think its from leaning on elbows when cleaning 3d prints.
ОтветитьHi! I know this video is older but I'm hoping you can help me with a question - I'm supposed to be having surgery on my ulnar nerve this month. I did the exercises in this video, the last one with the fist is extremely painful for me in the wrist. I can make the fist but bending it back is painful. I have had bad wrist pain for months which lead me to a specialist who diagnosed me with Cubital tunnel syndrome with an EMG test. Can't explain the wrist pain though! Can ulnar nerve compression cause wrist pain? Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьThank you!🤩
ОтветитьDefinately trying this! Iv lost sensation on my little finger and ring finger for nearly 3 weeks and nothing is helping.
ОтветитьHey, I loved this video! If I have hurt my ulnar nerve during training with kettlebells, how long should i steer away from training?
ОтветитьLiked and subscribed. <3 I will be returning to this video very often in the next few weeks to remind myself of these exercises, thank you so much.
I do have a question I was hoping you could answer. I'm fully aware of all the things an inconsistent, active ring and pinky finger tremor + occasionally tingling and pain could be and have scheduled all the appropriate tests, so don't worry about that advice, I'm on it! All I want to know is if tremor in those two fingers CAN be caused by an irritated/trapped/inflamed nerve in the elbow. I spent a lot of last year unwell and in bed and leaning on my elbows to read or play video games, plus I bend my elbow when I sleep, so I know I have this syndrome. I bought the night brace to help. I think I have some muscle atrophy that might be at play too -- my left forearm's muscles burn when I do the same piano exercises that my right arm does.
I've had this for well over half a year now so it's had plenty of time to become chronic. T_T
Sir this is very good video, i had an epicondylitis fracture surgeon and maybe i have this syndrome related with surgeon. Can i treat it without surgeon and these exercises?
Ответитьi got this from putting my elbow on the table for almost 2 weeks, but I've doing these exercise but unfortunately without any results, but i would like to ask you a question which is: is it likely by the time of nit getting better I should do a surgery and should i be concerned about it?!, and thank you so much
ОтветитьIn German the funny bone is actually called 'Musikantenknochen' which translates to musician's bone :)
Is it possible to recover from this without surgery when grip strength already decreased?
Hi Sir, please reply. My husband is having Ulnar nerve issue, numbness, ring finger n little finger claw. He is having from 1 month. Is it possible him to recover complely. ?? And how many months it might take to recover sir ?
ОтветитьI have one question , when i touch with my fingertips this nerve between two bones on my elbow , i feel some strange pain but if I am not touching it , i can normaly operate with elbow and hand in any direction and do any movement without any problem/pain.
I hit my elbow nerve agains chair 3days ago , and still feel pain once i am touching that elbow nerve.
Will this excersize help me?
Best video I’ve found on this. Thank you 🙏
ОтветитьHands down the most helpful video I have ever watched!
ОтветитьGot mine for 2 weeks now, and root cause is that i keep resting my elbow on my chair's armrest and didnt take regular breaks. Been really worried like will it get worst?? (It doesnt hurt or anything just lil numbness on my ring and pinky finger). Started doing these exercise and keep telling myself to like dont expect it to heal instantly haha.... 😅.
ОтветитьI awoke two weeks ago with a numb pinky and somewhat numb ring finger. It hasn't gone away. I'm in Guitarist and it's driving me nuts. I hope your knowledge helps me thank you
ОтветитьBest video I found yet on the cubital tunnel syndrome. It came on suddenly a couple of weeks ago. It is really annoying to have the loss of feeing in 1/2 of your hand. So glad to have come across this channel.
