I hope you´ll enjoy the video and my struggles. I felt shy about posting this video with so many silly mistakes of mine but hey that's what happened if you choose to learn to paraglide I'm sure you will have some funny stories to tell too. Enjoy 🪂
Ответить"You'll manage!" 🤣
ОтветитьFantastic video and well done getting your paragliding licence. It’s so much fun. I was really impressed with your instructor too. Loved his attitude to paragliding. 👍
ОтветитьThis was funny and awesome to watch ❤
ОтветитьI'm watching this thinking, where have I seen this guy before? Ah, Skiing videos! I myself have been paragliding for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy it. I enjoy watching other people starting out. Days spent ground handling are never wasted! Ground handling is one of the most important skill-building things you can do. It's great when you start learning to thermal, I did a flight about a week and a half ago 4 hours and 13 minutes. Welcome to the world of Para-waiting! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
ОтветитьWhere was this filmed?
ОтветитьNoone of the beginner pilots looked up at the wing after it inflated before take off. That creates bad habits for their solo flights. Imagine having a cravate on the wing, when the instructor repeated to STOP. When someone shouts stop, you always stop, even if you don't see a point and you have actually looked up right before.
ОтветитьBrow i really enjoe your video, I want to know hows your evolution, ok ! Don’t stop to make this fun videos. Congrats and be welcome to the pilots fun team!!!
ОтветитьNice mountain, where is this?
ОтветитьThis was great. You guys are nice dudes, good energy :) As a beginner yet to begin, this was helpful!
ОтветитьWatch a few ads and learn more about this exciting form of self expression. What a country!
Ответитьwho wants to paraglide when you can parachute!
ОтветитьTry not to deflate the glider on leading edge, more work and there you are a good pilot, A recommendation as a P3 pilot
ОтветитьNothing worse then crappy weather during a course
ОтветитьWow... When your instructor say "stop", you definitively need to stop.
It's better to stop when your feet are still on the ground than going up with an issue on your glider...
This is very very very important...
Like, lives may depend on it...
You really shouldn't teach students to do those small jumps when learning ground handling. It's fun but a very bad habit.
ОтветитьThat was good thanks, and good to see you save the situation early on when the wing went off to your right; so many people would give up and plonk the wing down to start again.
Ответитьthumbs up
ОтветитьPromo>SM
ОтветитьCongratulations ! ❤ … did mine 8 Years ago and still love it and improve every time …so much fun Rr Bernd
ОтветитьGenerally, i accept this video but i did yell at my screen sometimes oh my god you are terrible at this!! Oh ha ha haha hahaha!! Then i realized i never even did it 😕
Also i dont like the man who always gets very close and puts his teeth on my screen. Is he special? ok
So much fun seeing the progress throughout your course.
Seems like there was a good amount of ground-handling 💪💪
Very good.
Keep having fun 🪂
Best regards from 🇳🇴
Are you looking to get into speedflying ?
ОтветитьI have had 3 lessons so far. Got in 3 shlort launches on the bunny hill and did about a 20 minute tandem with my instructor out near San Fransico CA. Can't wait to get back to finish up. Had loads of fun watching you get your rating. I thought you did great and thanks so much for takiing the time to put all of that together.
ОтветитьWas fun seeing this. I used to paraglide myself but ended up having too many hobbies with too much traveling distance (living in the Mittelland and wanting to ski, bike, hike, paraglide, be in a sports club etc.). So after 5 years, 140 flights and 4 times missed practical test i quit.
Regarding the practical test, you have to do landings in a 30m circle in Switzerland (as one of the exams). I once had the person infront of me (like 30 seconds between us on landing) crash into the car parked like 10 m next to the circle - focus gone. One other time a guy was flying an RC plane on the landing place right until i went into final - focus not on the circle. Another time it lift me up so much on base so i started making S-turns. But soon was at the point that the next guy was there as well and he had priority. So i was flying behind the corn field to land - not in the circle. And yes, one time it was purely on me...
At this point i was like: f*** that s*** and stopped... and there are not that many days in the year where i really want to fly. So without being somewhere, where I can easily go for a post-work flight or on an afternoon or so, i probably won't start again.
This was really fun to watch and brings back memories for me. You handled it with great confidence and happiness which really counts for your next steps. Next to safety, pilot attitude is very important, and you're dialed in my friend! Congrats!
ОтветитьWhat an incredible adventure thanks for sharing this! And I thought skiing at Mammoth 11 days from June 30th to July 14th was awesome! Did my own little private mostly mogul/some freestyle personnel summer ski camp. Really tightened up my descending mogul lines actually. But you were FLYING so I tip my hat to you Jens. Thanks again!
Ответитьstop, stop, stop ,stop, stop, stop, STOP, STOP ;STOP....... too late. Continue! :D :D
ОтветитьSuch a nice video.... Thanx mate!!
ОтветитьGreat video documenting your learning Jens! Some similarities to the kite boarding class I recently took. For that, LEI (inflatable leading edge) kites are used. Started with a 5m kite with short lines and progressed up to 12m full length lines kind of like you did the first day. Be safe and have fun!
ОтветитьThat part of ignoring the stop order from the instructor, just reminded of me in Laax with a certain ski coach 😅
ОтветитьAnd I thought getting back into mtn biking was dangerous! I did bust knee cartilage and have a plate in my rt leg now from getting buck-flipped into a rock garden. All the best Jens & Stomp It bros!
ОтветитьSo cool, now i want to try too🎉
ОтветитьKul! Blev väldigt taggad på att åka upp till Åre och prova på skärmflyg själv nu. Kanske får bli nästa sommars stora projekt!
ОтветитьAhhh good times, I remember learning to ground handle and the magic of my first real flights, such a cool sport. Paragliding and backcountry skiing are my favorite sports, both give you the freedom to explore the mountains in ways many people never will.
ОтветитьSnygg!
ОтветитьJUST SUBSCRIBED !!!!👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThis was a really fun course, big thanks to Pål for beeing such a legend, and you Jens for documenting it and making it happen. Yeeha!
ОтветитьWow such a good idea Jens 🔥🔥
ОтветитьSpeedriding next? 😄
