Before I discovered Rupert Sheldrake’s work, I loved visiting the zoo, which was close by. I would watch the animals, hoping they would notice my conscious gaze. I remember a lion that turned its head toward me and continued to stare after I had looked away. It was the first time he acknowledged my presence. I stayed still and expressionless, believing my gaze was enough for him to recognize me the next time I visited. Unfortunately, my cats don’t respond in the same way.

I also had a near-death experience (NDE). I’ve read about such experiences, and some of them can be quite grotesque. During my NDE, my mind felt incredibly strong and clear. My thoughts were faster, and I understood everything with a sense of happy surprise. There was an overwhelming feeling of pure love. There's so much more to share, but returning to my body felt like waking up in this small world against my will, and I forgot all that knowledge. I believe our brains block consciousness, limiting us from accessing much more. The idea that our understanding is confined to this realm is, to me, quite pathetic.

Thank you for explaining Morphic Resonance.

Experiments like Dr. Sheldrake is talking about are being conducted at the Noetic Institute in California. The chief scientist there is Dr. Dean Radin. Curt should really have Dr. Radin on his podcast.

Well, I actually use this phenomenon staring at people‘s back to get their attention when I’m at a concert and someone tall standing in front of me is hiding my view. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to recognise my staring, but so far it has always worked and then this person moves a bit, so that I can see what’s on stage. So for me it’s a common phenomenon like telephone telepathy or knowing sometimes already what someone will say even out of a certain context.
Great work Mr. Sheldrake!!

I think our essence is our brain and that if it rots we cease to exist. I see no evidence for any serious brain injury being compensated for by physical mechanisms outside our brain and body. Evolution would take full advantage of any bandwidth beyond our vision, hearing, feeling and smelling and taste - but there is no evidence for it. I think it no coincidence that folks doomed to die in 100 years would be highly motivated to wish we as individuals surpass the limitations of our evolutionary heritage.

The popularity of this down to earth view will gain momentum as ai neural networks better duplicate our abilities with no mystery souls or heavens or esp.

Let me see you affect a sabre tooth tiger by looking at it because it sure as hell will affect you after it looks at you. So lets see blatent in your face evidence of major effects.

We need more scientists prepared to think around these matters more openly - mainstream science has, largely, been far too wary of exploring the nature of mind, which clearly seems to me to hold the proper answer to the nature of life.

No, id argue that consciousness exists beyond the brain, not mind. People conflate mind with consciousness, this is erroneous. The mind is an 'interface' between physicality and Consciousness.

Rupert, I'd like to share something on consciousness and Reality.
Consciousness does not exist within the body, the body exists within our consciousness.
All of our physical reality exists within our consciousness.
Physical reality is our dream state, absolutely..
All is a dream and all is real, dreams are real, reality is a dream.
It is all one and the same thing.
The only thing that makes our physical experiences appear different, are the different definitions that we give to the different dreams.
Physical reality is a dream with the illusion of solidity to the exclusion of all other dreams, consciously.
That is what the entire physical multiverse, our physical world, time itself and all space/distance is, a dream, an illusion.
