Popes are not Christians. They are catholic. Catholics and Christians are not the same thing. The Bible says Jesus was God in flesh. Unless you believe Jesus was God (the father, son, and holy spirit in one), and the only way to be saved is through by his grace through faith in his death, resurrection, and conquering of sin, then its not Christianity. Sorry if that offends you, but that is what the Bible says. We Christians have never claimed the pope as our own and many of us actually believe the papacy is the seat of the antichrist. The devil has needed someone ready to carry out end times prophesy from the beginning but because end time prophesy was spoken by God, it must be carried out in that way, so the devil had someone ready to carry these things out in every generation, just waiting for the world and for technology to develop enough for the end prophesies to be fullfillable because since God decreed them, that is how it must happen, whether or not the enemy is aware of it being because of God's decree or natural causes. The papacy is the position established by satan to do just this. And throughout history he has tried to enact these prophesies and failed. This is why we see so many evil things done by popes. But the reality is the pope is for Catholics and the catholic church is a delusional false church that doesn't believe Jesus himself was fully God, and if some do, they separate themselves from him by praying to dead saints who have no power to intercede as they say they do because frankly, only God hears our prayers. They practice confessional by asking forgiveness of their sins from humans while only God can forgive sins. This is heresy. The blood on the hands of the papacy is on the hands of satan, not Jesus or the saints living in this dispensation.

Honestly if you read the bible you are not supposed to pray to anybody but god through jesus christ so enery icon and statue of a saintt or mary though beautiful is idolatry which is one of the greatest sins.
