The Witches of Belladonna Cove (Sims 2 Lore & Stories)

This doesn’t have much to do with the video but I thought of it and now need to share.
So the sims team has come out and said the sims 4 doesn’t take place in the same world or even the same time line as the rest of the sims games, but what if that’s because it’s an alternate universe Alexander has created as a way to cope. He has arguably grown up in a very toxic household given his mother’s disappearance, his father’s remarry, and even his older sister’s toxic marriage. The sims 4 could have been his way of dealing with all of it and getting away from it.
It can be seen the most in Willow Creek (and some other worlds that I will not be mentioning). the Goth family is shown being all together with Bella, a young Mortimer, and a teen Cassie. The family has a good relationship with each other and is not really connected to the rest of the townies. Cassie is also shown as a teen, which I believe to be the case because that’s how Alexander most likely remembers her. She is not involved with Don and isn’t even the same age as him. Which puts them even farther away from ever having a relationship and also it’s what Alexander mostly will remember Don as. Don Lothario is put with the Calientes who have also given the Goths much trouble with Dina marrying Mortimer after Bella’s disappearance. Alex is also shown not getting along with Dina. Don has also caused the Goth’s more trouble with the speculation of having something to do with Bella’s diaperance. So it makes sense Alex would put them together and far away from interacting with his family.
It can also be seen in the playful townie names, for example, the Pancakes. It’s such a juvenile and fun name for a family. The townies also display some mature topics such as the Pancake’s rough marriage and the Spencer Kim Lewis family with the remarriage and family ties/relationships. Both of which can be said to happen in the Goth family in previous games. In the sims 3 we see Mortimer with his parents who aren’t really getting along anymore, which could have translated into his marriage with Bella in the sims 2, which then relates to the family dynamic we see with the Pancake’s household. Mortimer also get’s remarried to Dina in the sims 2 which caused some issues for the family as Dina did not get along with Alexander and was only after the money… which can be seen in the Spencer Kim Lewis household with the topic of remarriage and causing family strains. None of these topics are seen in the Goth household in the sims 4 as Alexander wants to keep his family happy and away from all the drama.
The last think I have really noticed is the whimsical builds. I think we can all agree the houses in Willow Creek (and sims 4 altogether)are pretty interesting. The Goth mansion for example is very different in shape and style than it has been in the previous games while also adding a childlike “dollhouse” look. It can also be seen that Alexander’s bedroom is put in the attic away from the rest of the family on the second floor. I see this as a sign of his real feelings about the whole thing. Him feeling isolated and distant from the reality of what is truly going on could be the reason he puts himself away from the family.

I love how Pleasant Sims does seasonal livestreams!

It looks to me like the original intention of the developers was for them to be the Pleasant twins in the future, but for some reason (either they thought it would be confusing, or that they shouldn't be repeating characters in other hoods, or something like that) they scrapped that idea and just heavily hinted at it instead.

I’ve never played with witches in the sims 2 so this have given me some inspiration to dabble into it! 👌🏼

Either the sisters were meant to be Pleasants' future versions, or the lore writers got reeeeeally lazy back then alright.

Love Belladonna, so glad you did this Cindy! I usually cram the magical stuff in their rooms but I liked your idea of using the secret room instead. For the twins - Since Kimberly likes vampires, I try to get her with either the count or the countess. I left Sam single but she got with Gabriel on her own, but I then realised she had more chemistry with one of the game's university pre made households (the Phineas something guy) .. so drama ensued as it always does with TS2 😂❤️

Love Belladonna Cove! It's tied with Pleasantview as my favorite hood.

In my game I gave the girls different jobs, that fit their personalities more. Sam is a veterinarian (because she has a high interest in animals). And Kim is a cat burglar (because of her high interest in crime). Sam has the secret room all to herself for her magick, because she and Kim had a knockdown-dragout fight and Kim moved out (and moved in with her bestie, Chastity Gere). Will they reconcile? Watcher knows. 😉

Could you make a comparison video for witches, or at least occult life states from the entire series? I guess it would be fun..

I thought I was really weird for loving the Sims so much... I've been playing the Simcity games since the early 90's, and later the sims as well, but the one that I still play most is Sims 2. Hi, this doesn’t have much to do with the video, but I just found out something weird about Magic subhood/bin families from Belladonna Cove.
I was reading apartment life prima guide about Belladonna Cove and all the families from the bin are missing a lot of the original data: jobs (Nathan Gavigan, both of the Goodies and Ginger Newson were employed), skills, enthusiasm, customized one true hobby (this is missing for all sims in Desiderata Valley and Belladonna Cove! All of them originally had matching one true hobby, it reverted to original for some reason) and even the age - all of them are at the beginning of the lifestage, which they weren’t supposed to be.
Unfortunately, the prima guide doesn’t mention their original interests, but I can’t tell if they are correct either.
It’s a shame, because it adds an interesting twist to the Newson family, so I’d highly recommend checking out the prima guide for apartment life when playing this neighborhood.

I don't know why I've never played that neighborhood.
I may try since I'm bored with Pleasantview ; all the original characters have died from old ages and their descendents I 've been rising are so so. I might leave them for a little while and play here

In my save file they both wanted to become witches & then they also both wanted to become vampires. I fulfilled their wishes & Bc of how vampires are in ts2 it’s pretty difficult to play lol

Well, cordial is a synonym for pleasant, so the Pleasant/Cordial connection is not far-fetched. Maybe it was intended as a heavy wink at the Pleasant sisters

Might be a coincidence with Pleasant sisters but in medieval Europe being a redhead was one of the traits that made people suspect an individual could be a witch

Dude I never even payed attention to the small details or knew anything about them before playing, I went to the town to find witches and only clicked on their household because the end of the bio, Surprisingly the girls are pretty nice to eachother when they’re not practicing their different ways of magick

Here what I think: the good witches should also have a defect like maybe, if they do one mean interaction then they have to be nice to 100 individual sims

Why the devs create this kind of alternate versions of famous Sims in the other three neighbourhoods? Like the Roths, the Cordials… im sure there should be more
