Never realized that 1950's US TV was this blatant with their product placement paid advertising.

Never gets light at 6am anywhere in Africa, any time of the year. 12 hour clock, 8 to 8, like clockwork sunlight.

Kind of amusing to see the host's surprise at Ethiopia being so modern in some ways. They wouldn't have stayed independent if they hadn't! There's a reason that arguably Africa's most powerful nation never became a colony. Their emperors were wise enough to see the need to get more modernized quickly and avert what happened to Egypt and the Kongo Kingdom, or Qing China for that matter. It's extremely sad though what the Communists did to a beautiful country. Ethiopia's never been the same since.
