They are not going to fire TT. Knicks are missing a consistent 3rd scorer and the bench needs to be upgraded. That’s where you are going to see the moves this off season. Bridges needs to go he doesn’t have a consistent shot even his mid range looks suspect. Put Hart on the bench would be an upgrade for that bunch.

Thibs and KAT aren't the only problems tho. JB's ball-hogging dribble marathons, Hart's dumb decisions on both sides etc. We have a low IQ core. Along with the coach.

Totally agree with every you said. Knicks were 100% talented enough to win this series, but constant and i mean CONSTANT self sabotage and lack of offensive gameplan/versatility led to this. They spent 8 seconds of every shot clock bringing the ball up: no adjustment. Pacers getting constant leakouts: no adjustments. Bench plays well all around, end up collectively being a +, still the guy doesnt play them. We drafted two super talented rookies this year, and guess what? They wont see the light of day under thibs.

The problem isn’t KAT. You can not succeed in todays NBA with to negative defenders the Knicks had to choose KAT or Brunson obviously pick Brunson but then they should’ve never traded for KAT. Having 2 negative defenders will never work

There is a reason why KAT was made available by Minnesota; it was his inconsistency on offense and nonexistence on defense. Plus he’s slow as heck; he doesn’t hustle and the way he moves lacks any smoothness. Also, why did the Knicks give up 3, yes 3, No. 1 picks for the disappointing Mikal Bridges? He’s inconsistent in taking his jump shots, i.e. his motion on the jump shot is not consistent and teds to be “herky jerky.” The bench is weak, no one can hit an open jumper, and the Knicks just were not on the same level as Indiana.

He needs to get an assistant who can develop bench players. You have good young players on this team Gotta Kolek., the young center and the young SG/SF

The majority of the reason for the Knick's demise was coaching and timely adjustments but yes turnovers and probably fatigue

Karl Anthony towns is not the issue, it’s coaching and only coaching. Jaylen Brunson defense is worst than towns, I’m surprised you not ripping Brunson a new one they was picking on Brunson every dam game, towns messed up one game and I bet the coach told towns to be in drop coverage

Thibs eyes opened this series, he will trust his bench more next year, KAT and the offense as a whole will be more effective, he was dealt this team with a whole summer thinking he had Julius and DDV then he gets a stretch 5 the first day of camp. He’s never coached a team with this many good offensive options. I expect next year to go 10x better barring injuries.

They lost game 5 because Brunson just don't like to pass the ball and the Pacers Pestered him and stole the ball. He has to learn that he can't win a game by himself

Funny how everyone wants to point out KAT’s deficiencies on defense but not mention Brunson who’s rated one of the worst defenders in the league. His defensive awareness puts the whole team in scramble mode. KAT isn’t great defensively but a lot of his mistakes were caused by the drop coverage the coaching staff had the team running. Mitch got caught leaving players wide open for 3’s because of the drop coverage and he’s a really good defender. OG and Mikal, who have made all NBA defensive teams before, were making silly mistakes on defense. The team didn’t know when they were switching on screens, getting lost in rotations. That’s coaching. Blaming KAT for poor defense is a very simplistic take.

Also they consistently allowed buckets after makes. Their transition defense was horrible all series.

The Knicks need to drive Thibs to the airport as fast as they can. Or they can make him a defensive coordinator. I don't get why people think we have to keep him. Notice that Boston put their first coach in the front office and the next 2 coaches took them to the finals then to the championship. Denver also fired their coach this season despite the fact that he won a championship. Cleveland fired their coach and went on to win the championship.

It's time for the Knicks to send Thibs home. Why? He:

1.-Doesn't make many adjustments in the game and rarely runs plays. Instead he tells the players to "let the game come to them on offense." The result is that good coaches with good defensive teams can see a pattern of attack and take advantage.

2.-Isn't pushing the players to consistently: move well without the ball, pass faster out of double teams, pass faster in general, do more ally oops, do more pick n' rolls, set more screens so players can get off shots before the defender gets to them, get out in transition so that guys can get to the basket before the opposing team's defense sets up, move well without the ball which would make them harder to defend, speed up the pace and cut to the rim for passes that lead to easy baskets on the run.

3..-Isn't using the bench much. Delon Wright can defend, block shots, put up some 3s, get in the passing lanes, force turnovers, steal and move well without the ball. Landry Shamet can defend and shoot 3s. Ariel Hukporti can defend, block shots, rebound, finish on ally oops, finish on pick n' rolls, drive to the rim and score in the mid range. Cameron Payne can drive to the rim, give assists and shoot 3s. Deuce McBride can shoot 3s, drive to the rim, block shots, get out in transition, get in the passing lanes, force turnovers and steal. Tyler Kolek can shoot 3s and give assists. Precious Achiwua can rebound, block shots, defend, shoot 3s, score in the mid range, finish on pick n' rolls and finish on ally oops.

4.-Isn't making KAT stand in the mid range or high post area in order to pass the ball forward to guys on the perimeter or backward to guys at the basket.

5.-Isn't making Mikal Bridges drive the ball inside fast and score in the mid range or pass to the center under the rim.

6.-Isn't using Josh Hart as the one man fast break that he could be. I've been saying this all season. They play too slow. The Knicks could do what the Pacers were doing to them. They can have Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson and Deuce McBride sprint back and catch passes from Josh Hart as they are heading towards the other team's basket.

7.-Didn't play Delon Wright with Jalen Brunson. That way you can have a guy who handles the ball well bring it up. Jalen Brunson can then play off the ball and run around (move well without it) which will make it harder to double team him.

8.-Show KAT how to use footwork or spin moves to get around defenders or get to the rim rather than elbowing guys aside.

9.-Show players how to do crossover moves to avoid defenders or dodge around them rather than driving straight into the defense expecting them to part like water.

Thibs' choice not to do these things and more resulted in the Knicks being sent home early by Indiana despite being the better team.

The front office should go out and look into getting at least 2 of these guys in the offseason: Jaden Ivey, Jaren Jackson Jr., Collin Sexton, Jalen Green, Miles Bridges, Desmond Bane, John Collins, Quentin Grimes, Cam Thomas, Cameron Johnson, Jarrett Allen, DeAndre Ayton (if healthy), Jonathan Kuminga, Mark Williams, Wendell Carter, Nic Claxton, Jalen Duren, Max Strus, Moses Brown, Malik Beasley & Keldon Johnson.

What they shouldn't do is listen to the media about who to get. Why? There will be a lot of competition for some of those players.

In reality we need to do both. Ideally we need move KAT for Giannis and fire Thibs for Monty Williams or Mike Malone

KAT is bad defensively but Brunson is even worse... i dont think they win with either on the team.

Doesn’t matterrrrrrr! We lost because of turnovers and no scoring production from guys who rack up high minutes. Also this team has only been together for 1 season, we weren’t supposed to beat the Celtics. We weren’t gonna get scoring out of our bench the way we needed it, it can’t just be KAT and JB. I’m sorry but Hart has to pack his damn bags and go man. He’s a top role player at best but he’s not built for moments like the East finals or even NBA finals with the amount of minutes he racks. We need scoring and trading for Giannis or KD isn’t gonna help when our priority should be shooting. I’m calling Phoenix not for KD but for Devin Booker and doing whatever it takes to get him to pair with KAT and JB. I believe we only have 1 FRP left but at this point we are all in to win and beat these weak ass teams in the East

KAT is the exact player we knew we were trading for. The bigger issue for the team is the coaches lack of adjustments/putting not just KAT but everybody in a position to maximize their talents.

That’s not to say KAT is not worthy of criticism, but he’s getting far too much heat.
