I am prepping to kill pigs this weekend. Question. Should a bell scraper be ground with the ground edge perpendicular to the handle of the scraper or to the angle of the blade as it come to the edge? I can't find this info anywhere online. Thanks!

Declares ago read up on slaughtering houses .
Then more on old fashioned method of putting the "beast" down , not my words.
Had a trough that required pig to have its head up or elevated .
Then one sharp blow from a 8' maul did stun, then the stick to bleed out.

The cows came in a Shute where you stood over n used a 12' maul.
One side you could jump down n stick/cut in to chest cavity for blood letting.

Often wondered if said mauls had a pointed or taper end to pierce the skull.

Was years ago, I read this.

Old farmer I knew & was told my grandpa just pierced the spine with a driving knife then cut the jugglers .
