Thanks for all this info. I dunno when I'd ever need to nickel plate an object, but it's good to know for the future. Doesn't seem too difficult. It might be cool to restore some items one day.

@Odd_Experiments I realize this article is a couple years old, I see there hasn't been activity for a while, I'm hoping your still monitoring your channel 🤔 Anyway, I have several dozen nickels that I bought at garage sale, some have no dates. I don't have the big bars of nickel like you were using, can I use a couple of the old dateless/cull nickels for the electrodes to re-plate some of the nicer coins to give them a shine? Some of them look new, almost uncirculated and would have the original mint luster if they hadn't been sitting in an open quart fruit jar container in the basement. I'll never sell them, I'm thinking of getting them shiny, then making a laminated bartop using them and a couple of them are rarer ones to put in my album. I'd greatly appreciate a reply. Thanks in advance

Start small 🤔 no. Want to plate two swords. Thinking use guttering but will i need multiple anodes to get an even quality finish ?

Very informative, With all required materials needed - the most important is how to make the solution which most videos don't specified clearly, You find the experiment is dysfunctional and ineffective, so you start searching again, most important no Talk or scream. Thank you🎣

They say that before gold plating it is best to first make nickel plating. Is there some evidence for this?

For BRIGHTER finish add 60% Polypropylene Glycol PLUS 5% SODIUM SACCHARIN (SWEETER).

SALT BAD! Makes CHLORINE GAS!!! Use Potassium Carbonate next time.

I tried doing this, with the same material (but the nickel was much thinner - 1mm) and the coin became dark and dull instead of shinny and bright 🤔 anyone knows why?
