Hi Just a point when you set resolution to 8K you cant use your phone app to view and edit the footage

Took my X3 with me to watch the sunrise at the Haleakala Crater on Maui.. I followed all of your steps for a Sunrise Timelapse, and the video became so white & washed out by the time the sun had come out. I was filming for about an hour and a half, and the video was only 5 seconds long lol. Totally Unusable footage, guess I should have tested those settings first. I wish I had just used the automatic settings:(
Especially bummed out because I’m on vacation and not sure when/ if I’ll be able to try this shot again.

Maximum time for the timelapse

I love my Insta360 X3. The majority of my shots will probably be when I'm scuba diving. However, I also want to do some cool time-lapse videos. I want to learn how to edit doing a fast time lapse on the beach, then slow down to normal speed, then speed up again. Can I edit this on the app or the Insta360 studio, or do I need another editing software?

Can anyone help me with this? When I get to the point of EXPORTING its mentioned that setting the resolution i try and enter ie 3840 into the first window but the second window brings up a huge number, never does it self populate with the 2160 anyone know what I am missing here?

I do software development. The INSTA360 mobile App is one of the worst designed Apps I have ever seen.
MOBILE APP IS A PIECE OF CLUTTERED TRASH !

Every time I open it on my phone I get super pissed off. Whoever designed it should be immediately fired ! I will never byu any INSTA360 products again. While the hardware is good, the software is absolute piece of trash. The desktop App is a bit better but far from even besic expectations.
INSTA360 dos not really know how to build usable Apps :-(

Sorry if it covered somewhere, but how do you protect this camera from overheating when outside taking an extended shot for a few hours.

How long does the battery last while doing time lapse?

Is this camera good for night timelapses? Things like star trails, moon, city lights, nighttime car movement. I just bought the Hero 11 today and am really considering switching. Like really considering after seeing this video. Just thinking about the movement of the video.

I'm having difficulty with this camera's atrocious battery life. There's just no way my camera will be powered long enough for anything neat to happen. Brand new camera, a week old, with extra batteries in a bundle of three, and man, they all stink. If it isn't thermal shut down, then its just blowing thru the battery in like 20 miles of riding. I'm thoroughly disappointed with mine. Your shots are f**king sweeeeet, I tell you that.

Insta360 desktop app is different from the phone or tablet apps?

Was thinking about buying the X3, but I can't get a clear answer on how long of a video can it take with a 1tb card while externally powered. I do a lot of hiking and would like to know more on the vide time limits. I can't find any details on their website. Do you have any advise?

Have you stumbled across a better option for a USB cable? Maybe a short cable with a 90° on each end.

my X3 keeps shifting positions like it keeps shifting frames from left to right and juggles around. when i do a timelapse, any idea why?

You mentioned blowing over… I drilled holes in 2 of the feet so that I could use tent pegs to anchor it to soft ground

Thanks for the video. Never thought of a clamp before but that looks like a great thing. I got a new x3 after my gopro max blew over and shattered a lens... I'm realizing that with the x3, timelapse must be stationary, unlike the gopro max that will do stabilized 360 timelapses. So I guess if you want a 360 timelapse walking, for example, you'd need to take regular video and then speed it up later while editing. Is that right? Cheers!
