Ruth Maynard, in Hancock County 50 years ago, referred to the tourists as "the summer complaint."
ОтветитьThis is why my family lives in Northern Penobscot in the middle of the woods so no one can bother us 😂
ОтветитьFunny that the real estate agent doesn't tell you in this video that the state of Maine has one of the highest property taxes in the country! Do your research!
ОтветитьBeen looking at Maine for over a year now. Got out of the military and moved back home to Montana. Unfortunately my home is really no longer affordable because of Yellowstone and the left coasters moving here and ramping up housing costs to a completely unaffordable level for the average income. Washington state would be nice for the ocean, but the politics have killed that completely. Never been to Maine, but it seems very similar to Western Montana, except the ocean.
ОтветитьAs a Mainer, I DESPISE all of you. I have to stay cooped up for 8 months; frozen, depressed, dark, struggling to dig out my driveway, deal with the icy roads... and when it's time to get outside and enjoy my coast, you guys come up in this bitch and crowd me out.
ОтветитьMaine's pretty nice. I'd like to move to South Berwick. I'm in California now. Weather would be the hardest thing to cope with. Here on the Central Coast it's always pretty moderate with no snow and rarely any rain.
Ответитьthe farther north of augusta and Portland you go the better, too many democrats down there.
ОтветитьThe left leaning government is the real problem.
ОтветитьThe pro is that its cheap asf .
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI love Maine!I moved my senior year in high school and 30 years later I still miss Maine, friends more than t u ever state itself
ОтветитьLoose the shades,
ОтветитьMaine sucks ass
ОтветитьMy mother's maiden name is Avery and I live in Connecticut. Maybe 1 day I would have to come up there and check it out. Maybe I can find some of my Mother's family in Maine. I've always looked for property in Maine. New Hampshire or Vermont to call a vacation place. Maybe maybe my place, please comment back
ОтветитьA real estate agent telling people don't move here? I moved to Maine for many of the same reasons stated, and loved it. I had to move away from Maine for family and work reasons. I dream of the day I can return for good.
ОтветитьQuebec here lol you are pussy on the weather.....
ОтветитьJust stay away from Maine we have too many people now. You will not like it… repeat 5 times
ОтветитьSouthern Maine has just turned in to northern Massachusetts. Other than Bar Harbor, the rest of us don't exist.
I'm glad I'm in the real Maine.
Come to Oregon, Oregon=Maine with Rain instead of snow
ОтветитьCold, expensive and woke.
ОтветитьAs a child we spent a week every summer on the coast. As a mid 30s adult I have moved my family from Florida to the foothills and we are absolutely loving it. The small town pace, small town vibe we’ve craved. We’re learning which places are seasonal and which aren’t; personally I love that places are seasonal, adds to the joy of when they are open. This is our first winter, hardest part so far.
Summer really doesn’t affect our area as far as tourism goes. We lived in central Florida, I can say Maine is NO WHERE near that kind of tourism. I’d take the busiest Maine city over any Florida city.
if u live in maine - read !!!
prepare to read alot !!!!
this guy is honest
Ответить100% accurate!
ОтветитьSouthern Maine, aka Northern Mass. same difference. Where’s the County? Can’t get there from here!
Ответить...and flies!
ОтветитьWho's "they", and what DID they tell you?
ОтветитьLiberal dump
ОтветитьLeave your nice coffee mug on the apt mailbox in the fall, and I'll still be there in spring. But do not leave any valuable documents around the house. I know 7 Mainers who got ripped off by their relatives to the tune of $100Ks+. An 80 year old male friend's nephew sold his house while he was in the hospital for 4 days. How could he sell it that fast? Real cheap. The court reversed the sale but the old guy had to pay the unreimbursable expenses to keep his nephew out of jail. Realtors and tax men need to eat too. Mainers will flock to your door in your worst time of need so they can get first pick of the things your Uhaul rental can't hold as you move into the woods next to the dump in Bath. It's next to Detritus Rd. Google map it. I lived in those woods in a hammock and stocked shelves at Shaw's over night. Shaw's is based in MA so they would hire me. Mainers know they cannot compete with competent ppl with much better preparations in life other than lobster pots. The videographer feels at ease coming back to ME, only because he'll tell any curious ME cop that he's from there, at which point the cop will smile and tell him to have a nice day.
ОтветитьThe tourist thing I get . Same here in Cooperstown NY. Tourist season SUCKS ! Best part is just before and just after
ОтветитьI'm all for ghost season, aka end of tourist season.
ОтветитьNothing wrong with Maine.
ОтветитьGreat, move out then.
ОтветитьYou are talking about northern Massachusetts not Maine
ОтветитьI live in Florida so I relate to the tourist topic lol
ОтветитьDon't forget about the taxes... You out of towners call it vacation land.... Locals call it taxation land !!
ОтветитьAbout the whole “nice people” thing, it really doesn’t apply to most of Maine, kind of only on the coast in the more wealthy towns. I’ve lived in central Maine my whole life, while spending a couple years growing up on midcoast of Maine. Once you head inland a little bit, there are no valuable industries and your neighbors might give you a call if your house is on fire, that’s the extent of it. Most of the people in this state are miserable and/or impoverished.
ОтветитьI just left Maine, few notables no one wants to actually wants talk about but the reason why Maine is so expensive to Live. Excise Tax, State Tax, Vehicle Inspection, and lastly the entire immigration tax situation.
ОтветитьI was stationed at northeastern Maine for three and a half years while I was in the Air Force. That cured me of ty he northeast.
ОтветитьSpent my first 30+ years in Maine. As a Mainer, my favorite time of year began AFTER the tourists left the state. Honestly, we weren’t especially happy with tourists who became residents because, nine times out of ten, they would get bored and want to make their Maine communities look more like the places they left behind, and they tended to push natives out of their coastal communities through gentrification. For years I cherished a bumper sticker that said; “Welcome to Maine. Now go home.” But I don’t suppose any of that makes Maine any different from anywhere else that attracts tourists.
ОтветитьYes I would agree about out of towners coming to the town you live in. I deal with it as well here in AZ these people are like vultures
ОтветитьThank you!
I am thinking to move to Maine from Israel. And you know I really loved all I read about the calmness in Maine, friendly people, and the closeness to nature. My dead, who lived in Vegas and passed away a year ago, really loved vacations in Maine. So I am thinking to come and see the city a bit
I really wanna visit Maine someday. Super pretty!
ОтветитьBorn and raised in Maine. Left 3 days after High School. Maine sucks.
ОтветитьAbsolutely True.
