I would put some non absorbent floor in the bldg. If not that bldg will become a breeding ground for all kinds of disease

Great job. You laugh like Tucker Carleson. All we inovators tend towards a slight Hypomanic edge I guess. The fridge vs AC thing.... I get the impression that ACs dry things out more. Walk in Fridge coolers twnd to condense and trap a lot more humidity. I dont know why that is, but my neighbor here in Venezuela is a diy fridge technition, and agrees. Since my walk in needs to be dry for storing seeds, a years grain harvest, and sacks of coffee and cocoa beans, as well as dried meats, Im tempted to opt for the AC unit, and counteract the diferential by building it into a hillside like a concrete tank lined with ceramic.

inb4 if have a good source of water and you run the water over the radiator of your cooling system it increases its abilities and reduces its electrical use exponentially

If you used styrofoam insulation on all 6 sides walls ,floor, ceiling he probably get a better temperature hold and it would help a lot but I don’t follow you that much. You probably did that but one

on your building did you insulate your walls all the metal coolers has a metal sheet on the outside than foam then metal sheet on the inside the walls are about two to three inches thick i worked at McDonalds over ten years on and off most of my job was the maintenance program i also had to be at a store everyday when we built a new store and actually watched the construction of the cooler and freezer i have to say it was a great job because i went to different companies to see their process for Maintenace and fix them for their 8 stores

To save a shed-load of energy, have spare door-sized insulating panels. Use them to bulk fill the spare space around the meat. That will drastically reduce cooling requirements. From the old saying: a full fridge is an efficient fridge.

As others have said: painting, sealing, improving vapour and thermal insulation will also help hugely.

Hey! You did good and you did the right thing by putting that packaged unit in. One small problem, someone has put a piercing valve on the suction side next to the compressor. That is your weakest link and they always leak at the worst time. Please get that replaced.
