I am 68 years old now and after reading a lot of these comments they have brought me to tears as I sit here typing this comment. I can still hear my Mom and Dad singing this song while we driving in the car. My Mom and Dad are both gone now victims of the horrible disease of Alzheimer's. My Mom went first and my Dad provided all of the care she ever needed. I can hear my Dad singing softly to her and it broke my heart then just as it does now. As a reward for doing such a great job taking care of my Mom he developed Alzheimer's as well and before he became incoherent, he would ask me to give him something or do something so he could go and be by my Mom's side. I felt every bit of his pain not being with my Mom, but I told him that if he took his own life it would be a sin and then he would never get to be by her side. Dad, I miss you and you are with her now.

I wonder would the world be any different without us.?

Going through a divorce. I have 2 kids. 2 and 4. The 4 year old is autistic. My wife says she is leaving because of my drinking. Less than a week later i found out she was sleeping with another man. As a toddler, my Grandparents would take care of me and my two other siblings while my parents were at work. I remember that my grandma would sing this to me as I laid on her couch as I tried to fall asleep. I cry now for the reminder of loss of an innocent and carefree nature I ,and all of us, once held. An innocent state not disturbed by any stresses of life, or the crushing relentlessness of reality.
