Imagine they make the next John Wick movie and have it star some guy who vaguely looks like Keanu and he's never held a weapon before in his life.

Yeah, I'll stick with the animated series instead. The 1st season at least because they had the original actors voice reprising their roles.

I wasn't a fan of the 3rd movie. It was awesome seeing Keanu Reeves & Alex Winter reprising their roles again, and even William Sadler as Death from the 2nd movie, but the movie felt very bland & it's the weakest movie in the whole trilogy. It also wasn't the same without George Carlin as Rufus (RIP).
The 3rd movie's twist made Bill & Ted's purpose & role in the whole movie series pointless, it's like why even focus on them to begin with then?! And the twist is even cliché, we have already seen that type of sh*t, which I'm not a fan of, in other classic franchise like Star Wars & Ghostbusters!

This strikes me as a fantastic candidate for deepfake correction, as the television actors are professionally mimicing the movie actors likenesses and deliveries.

I loved all three movies.. Plus loved the cartoon. George was the only thing missing from the third one.

Season 2 of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is bad.

The live action series is something I ignore.

Face the music was pretty bad and Keanu’s performance was phoned in he didn’t even try on the voice at least Alex attempted to sound like old bill

A big reason why the Bill & Ted sitcom failed is that it was made by people who appeared to have utter distain and lack of reverence towards the source material. The Bill & Ted sitcom was created and executive produced by a man named Clifton Campbell and he said to Starlog magazine in November 1992 "It’s difficult to do a series where the lead characters don’t grow or have an evolving arc. Bill and Ted stay Bill and Ted, so the challenge in creating scripts was to come up with stories that were wrapped around incidents they bump into in their everyday lives. The idea was that Bill and Ted are basically fish out of water, dealing with things that don’t make sense to them."

Thank god Keanu did point break. 😅

Winter has a charm that draws you in.
Watching this reimagining really highlights how a singular difference in talent can mean a hit or failure. Bill and Ted didn't deserve to be as good as it is. Honestly, it's a pretty boring thing all by itself. Every bit of drama comedy and weight comes from the talent involved. This just makes it painfully obvious that Winter deserved better in Hollywood. I know he's had a good career, just saying, he really deserves as much respect as Keanu. Heck, I never realized it fully just how much.

What disturbs me is that the TV show Bill and Ted aren't playing Bill and Ted. They're playing "Alex and Keanu" playing Bill and Ted.

The guy sounds exactly like Keanu, but he’s so unattractive and his hair is so long I would be insulted if I were Keanu Reeves thinking this is what they think. I look like that Alex Winter is OK but the Keanu is a travesty.

I thought that was Corey Haim playing Bill.

The scab Bill and Ted don't look the part but they got the voices pretty close.

Bill and Ted 1 and 2 are all time favorites of mine, 3 I couldnt finish. The tv stuff was just not for me. The first two movies ill never get tired of.

Your idea of making the live action and cartoon the same show with segments of live action leading to the cartoon seems like a no brainer. There were quite a lot of popular shows at the time that had that format.

The actor playing Bill at least kind of looked like Alex Winter in the role. The actor playing Ted doesn't look like Keanu Reeves at all and doesn't really look like Ted because of it.

Man great point. If your a bill n ted fan how awesome to get a final movie years later with the original cast n directors. It would b my favorite no matter how good or bad it turned out. Now a days just reboots but their still fun too.

They didn't even get there hair right and sort of look older. Shame they didn't just do animation as it looked like Bill & Ted, also genius to have original cast do the voices. TV Bill did get the voice sort of right. Shows how good an actor KR was then, as TV Ted isn't close to being as foolish & still charming. New movie was a very welcome surprise.
