LEGO Hogwarts Icons Review

Even though it would be awsome if you could cast a spell using the wand it's built out of LEGO and sadly ( from what it looks like) plastic and magic don't go together .

You can perform magic with the wand, you just need to buy the LEGO Magic Functions motor and power pack. Unicorn horn, phoenix feathers and eye of newt not included.

BUT THIS SET WILL THEY DO EVERY YEAR OR DO YOU NEED TO BUY IT BEFORE IT FINISHES?

I really enjoyed your video. I think display cases are the biggest obstacle to buying sets like this. Do you like the ikea display bookcases and stands for large Lego sets?

I just got this set a few days ago, and I have to say, it's huge. Though it's quite an expensive set I still think it was worth it

If they do something similar to this for Star Wars, I’m getting it

Good review! I really like how you saw some of the same missed opportunities as me (a Harry Potter fan). I also missed the stickers for the books, I might add my own. I also loved the elixir bottles, so LEGO customer service helped me create two more - Draught of Living Death, and Amortentia with black and pink round dots and own stickers - highly recommend. An elixir set could be fun ;)

What Ideas would you have if I think the owl is an amazing looking LEGO build, but I hate Harry Potter? Is there something from another set it could be combined with as a perch?

This is a really fun set to build with my two grandchildren who are 11 and 9.

I bought this for my mother-in-law (56 yrs old) this past Christmas. It was a wild shot, & wasn't sure if she would enjoy putting it together or think it was a fun display piece! I did this against her daughter who said she would hate it, but needless to say. She loved it & put it together over the course of a month. Doing one / maybe 2 bags a day! She now wants the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set.

I’m curious what the dimensions of the base book is please? Unsure if the dimensions shown on site involve any other components

Shame they didn't do fantastic beasts for one of the books for the new movies.

I rarely purchase Harry Potter sets. I've only purchased the Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley...but this is one I'm getting for sure. What a beautiful set!

Hedwig looks so adorable

I’m not into Harry Potter, but this is so beautiful that I want to make a “mega version”, being all four houses in the stacked books, all golden mini figs, all house scarfs (turning Easter eggs into features), potion shelves and so on. Will it cost a lot? Yeah. Will that stop me from trying to design it on my pc? Hell no!

I'm looking at this set just for the owl ontop of the books as a display piece in my library. I'd leave out the Harry Potter letter and potions and probably expose the frame where the potion box sits, but perhaps the spare parts I create could be adapted somehow?

That Hedwig looks incredible. Would definetly buy it as a stand alone set. Will pass on this one though as it's quite expensive in Brazil and I don't really care about the rest of the set.

I am glad to hear that about Hedwig. The smaller Hedwig and Fawkes builds are super fragile in my experience, so I was hesitant to buy this even though it looks so cool!

Actually, the colors of Ravenclaw are bronze and blue, but everyone forgets that.....
