I love how even though he accepts and moves on, he still holds bitter moments from it. From how he frowns looking at dazai and how he probably still somewhat wished he couldve done something with how obvious and concerning the situation was for the boy (From the grave sequence). But I like how instead of feeling guilty getting reminded of the boy, he treats him how he wished he shouldve done in the past. Hes still upset obviously, but hes compensating for it

UGHHHHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH I CAN'T EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR YOU AND YOUR CONTENT I KNOW I PROBABLY SHOULDVE COMMENTED 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN I FIRST WATCHED IT BUT I COULD NEVER FIND THE RIGHT WORDS SO IM HERE NOW TO SAY WHAT I WANT TO SAY

I love how much thought you put into this, from the behaviour of the student that has signs of abuse to how he gave his things away. The way Kunikida was worried about him was really heart-warming and it made Kunikida feel guilt for never taking any action to help his student. I think this really portrays Kunikida extremely well as it is a canon trait of his to always want to protect, and not let anybody die under his watch. An example of this in the anime is when Fyodor set up the trap that the agency waltzed right into, and (spoilers for anyone that has not watched season 4 of bsd) where the girl was wearing bombs. Kunikida tried to protect her and save her, but did not prevail. You could really hear his pain when he screamed after witnessing this young innocent girl die in front of his eyes. After taking all this into consideration, your characterisation of Kunikida paying respects to the boy after death and standing there looking at his corpse was really immaculate.

The way the signs of abuse and suicidal tendencies were characterised in the student was also considered very carefully. As I said in my first sentence, I really loved him giving away his valuables. Not many people take this into consideration and you did a splendid job in terms of the portrayal of suicide and symptoms(?) of abuse compared to other creators I have seen. The way he said his final goodbyes to Kunikida really went somewhere deep inside my heart. I have more to say about this particular topic but I have exams next week and I need to make this short.

Moving on to my favourite part, the way the boy parallels to Dazai in so many ways and how Kunikida sees the boy in Dazai. I think this has a deeper meaning, whether you did this deliberately or not (which I personally think was very smart either way), it really symbolises how even though the agency takes Dazai's suicidal tendencies as a joke, deep down they (or at least Kunikida) cares and is worried for his mental health. Remember how Kunikida does not wish for anyone to die under his watch? In my opinion even though he acts like he doesn't care, he's always watching out for Dazai. Though, that is only my headcanon.

I'm so sorry for how long this is, but I've been thinking about writing this comment since this video came out. I really love all your videos and how thought out they are. Needless to say, you are definitely my favourite bsd creator. Also, take care of your mental health, its no big deal to go on break, and we won't get impatient or mad at you for however long you go on hiatus. Just remember that your health is first, not us!

edit: I just rewatched the reaction video and remembered that the students name was fumoda- woopsies 😻
