What about a Goddess of Snow? I have felt this to be real for some time. Does anyone know the name of a Nordic Snow Goddess? Also, what about different spirits? How are they different from gods and goddesses? I think people worshipped spirits before they worshipped gods, so therefore are spirits older? What do you think? Offerings to the gods, NO ANIMAL SACRIFICE PLEASE.

I was really down one time, I live in Montreal, smoking a cig I told Odin that he doesn't need to give me a sign of any kind, but that I would really like it. Rain started to fall, really heavy rain for just a second, the sky was clear and it was night. I felt accompanied, really meaningful to me.

When making an offering of mead, do you leave it out or pour it? Also, when I put meat in a fire as an offering, it's raw, right?

i know this video is super old but i need so much. Also, worth mentioning with this topic. Maybe more important to learn communication with than the gods, is the "Rådare" (don't know if there is an English variant of the word). They are local spirits found everywhere, in a lake, in a forest, a big stone or your farm. Much of the presence you feel while in nature is them. They are everywhere and they do effect your everyday way more than the gods do. They will mess you up if neglected 😬 don't forget Rådarna. Never forget Rådarna... 😉

My family is Norwegian, Celtic and Greek. I find ancient history/ mythology to be very interesting, even though I don't prescribe to those beliefs. Loki technically has been imprisoned since the time of the Vikings. He killed a God and incured the wrath of the Gods. They captured him and tied him to a rock where he will remain until the end of days (Ragnarok). I guess Loki could still technically listen from his imprisonment but I don't think there's much he can do, tied to a rock with the venom of a snake dripping onto his face whenever his wife can't catch it in the bowl she holds over his face. There's an interesting argument that Ragnarok already happened and we are actually living in the new age after Ragnarok. In that case people would be worshipping the new Gods after Ragnarok, not Odin or the old Gods as they died in the battle of Ragnarok. If we are living in the new age it's possible we are instead headed towards the next big battle of heaven and earth instead of Ragnarok. Just something to consider for Norse pagans. 👍

One question I have that’s been bugging me is this: Where in the myths do we stand timeline wise? Obviously Ragnarock hasn’t happened yet so then are there also other myths which haven’t happened yet? Has Balder died yet? Has Loki been punished and separated from the other Gods yet? Or are these things that will happen in the future?

I am a Christian but I would like to know about being Asatru as wall

I have no issues with Christians being humble enough to not disagree with me or shine my shoes with their tongues. Christians make fine slaves and serfs. We would not want you to get uppity like a noble and involve yourself in peasant rebellions. All that pride and independent thought is almost enough to turn a noble yellow. The Germanic pagan kings lived in wooding houses and had to worry about his citizens armed with spears and swords locking him inside and setting it on fire, castles and disarming the peasants was a great ideal as was using church to keep the people on their knees like good little slaves. Pagan kings where way to generous, We need to be able to get away with taxing them to starvation, keeping them to weak to rebel. Germanic pagans where free, Christians became serf in the name of god and then was giving pity and then upgraded to peasants. Nobles and priests abused them to the point of the nobles feeling sorry for them. The only king, dictators, presidents that I trust with unlimited power is myself.

I grew up Roman Catholic. About 3 years ago I was challenged to find the true history of my religion. After my Catholic faith had been dismantled I began my years long search for answers. I researched Wicca, paganism, voodoo, hoodoo, basically everything I could find. I then found the three sisters that tended the world tree. A spark so undescribable happened. I knew I had found the start of what I needed to learn. This was literally last week! Now I'm on this path unsure of the direction to take. I've decided to continue my research of Odin and the Gods and Goddesses. Even though I'm new to this I am certain my path is correct. I wish everyone finds their moment of realization.

How do you know what God/Goddess is with you in the moment?

I was working in Afghanistan Camp Dwyer night shift. I had to walk down to our shop from the DFAC I was working on and I looked up at the moon on my way back and as clear as day there was Odin in the clouds the moon was his eye and when I tried to take a photo I could not see his face in it , so I looked up at the clouds and saw him looking down at me looked at my phone saw a jumbled mess looked back up at the all father and smiled , I said aloud for all to hear. HAIL ODIN THE ALL FATHER IS GOOD, I felt his presence and it was almost overwhelming, the Gods and goddesses are real and they are everywhere , Skal kinsmen

I have to ask based purely on my own thoughts, what of Folkvangr and the Vanir? I understand Asatru is the faith in the aesir but it’s not like pagans can just ignore the fact that folkvangr exists as the vanir afterlife similar to Valhalla

I have found though, a difference between offering and sacrifice.

Sacrifice being something of yours you give up to gain something else you might rather have.

And an offering would be something you bought with money you worked for and earned, or made with your own hands giving time and energy and love, as veneration, celebration, or thanks for gaining what you wanted thru sacrifice.

I have always felt like there is a higher being/beings since i was a child, even when i played sports ( rugby mainly) i truely felt a presence within me that would get me ready for battle, when i was 12 years old i had this moment with a raven/rook in the back garden, it sat right next to me and we proceded to look directly at eachother for about 5 minutes, i was just facinated by the beauty ofcourse at that age i thought nothing of it, other than the feeling of being safe in its presence. but it has taken me 30 years to discover the norse pagan religion, i have just started reading the prose edda and i will do more research into it and see where it leads me

I am delighted that I have stumbled along your channel ( even though I know the divine guided me here!! ) I was raised Christian and didn't know there were other religions or belief systems out there......I didn't know we could choose, or have a say in what our hearts truly believe in. Now that I have my own personal perspective on life, I can choose!! I have been drawn more to the Celtic/Welsh gods and goddesses, but I have already learned so much from some of the videos you have posted. I love to learn about your Norse Pagan beliefs but it doesn't call to me like the Welsh lineage does. I'm excited to watch more of your videos, to enjoy your knowledge of the history, and the beautiful scenery at the places you have been, and indeed find my own way to a belief system that resonates with my heart! ❤

Who ever you focus your thoughts and attention is who you give your power too..the gods want your energy because it makes them more powerful..the gods are always fighting each other for more worshippers so they become more powerful..that is taking place in Israel this very day...

I may try to find the Edda's in Icelandic. That would help me out with my learning of the language.

I've been in the pagan community for years but so unsure of where I need to go troubles my logical mind says it's all BS but my experience says otherwise makes it also hard. What brought me to asatru. I had a powerful dream one day there was this beautiful woman in front of me in armour I think she was holding a sword and she had wings like angel wings she was looking at me and all I heard was a female voice just repeating the name fray. The power I can send from her was immense with a Nordic fill to it. I could never forget. At this point I did not know much about Freya. On researching and the name Frey I kept getting I eventually started to look at Freya and surprised one of the images I saw online was of fraya with armour on with angel wings. I know she doesn't have angel wings it's her cloak made of feathers but the way she showed it it was angel wings. I'm from the UK but with Swedish ancestry. I'm so unsure of where to go there is so many books for beginners but I don't know what one to get.

I’m a 16 year old, and I just recently found out about my Norwegian ancestors. I have a job but I spend most of my money on my puppy because I have to get her shots and other things for her because she was recently born. If I’m unable to offer things such as steak or wine or anything of that sort, would they be upset in any way. I’m really wanting to embrace my ancestors beliefs and I find it really interesting. If you can give me any tips on how to start worshiping, I would be extremely grateful.
