I am 74 and I dress like I always dress. Sporty. I don’t dress like an old lady.
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos so much. When I am feeling down, I listen to your talks and I feel so much better.
ОтветитьIf you feel younger you will look younger❤
ОтветитьThank you I love dressing up too. I love pockets too. I cannot live without pockets. I live on the Oregon coast and is a tiny town. Everyone here dress for comfort. When I dress up, I blend in with the tourists. I enjoy myself.
ОтветитьGod Bless you. We need to embrace our age. Love your video!
ОтветитьLove you good advice, thank you! (Wondering if you are Aussie).
ОтветитьI don’t think we are guilty of anything, I choose to dye my hair, I like it, I feel much better doing it, it’s very red and I feel alive with it!
ОтветитьI have earned every wrinkle and don't mind. I have always felt that I should be "free to be me".
ОтветитьWear yellow that's my favorite color.
ОтветитьLove the flowers
ОтветитьHi Margaret I’m your age and I’m having a hard time with style. I’ve always been eclectic but as I got older I’ve become self conscious of everything I put on. Do I look too old, too young, too frumpy, too flirty.😆yikes!! What happened to me! One thing I cannot get myself to purchase is ripped jeans. How do the other ladies feel about this? ❤️❤️
ОтветитьI like pink and i ordered new cell phone cases in pink, too
ОтветитьThank you! Women need to realize they should be themselves not a stereotype. 💗
Ответитьi wear what makes me feel good....BUT on a few occasions I have been sent photos of myself and I look awful in the photos. the disconnect makes me feel very depressed and confused. how did i go from feeling fun to sad. why did i not see myself accurately?
ОтветитьThanks for helping us out !
ОтветитьNot to worry. All of these young people, who act as if they'll never het old, WILL get old, And in far less time than they think. I have "good genes," and could pass as 40s until my mid 50s. I never used Creams or cosmetics. Then, after menopause, I slowly began to age. Now, at 73 I have to admit I am finally old. Still healthy, though, thankfully.
As far as clothes go, I'm the arty type, so I do like bright colors and patterns. If you have weight issues, patterns can hide fat rolls far better than solid colors.
I hate those "anti-aging" ads that use models who are barely out of their teens (or still in their teens!) telling women that the product will keep wrinkles away! C'mon, we all had perfect skin at that age!! LOL!!
ОтветитьI truly enjoy listening to your words of wisdom. I am 63 and have had challenges all my life about looking good. Unfortunately, insecurities played a part and not having a female mentor like a mother, sister or cousin that held my hand through this made it more difficult. In my later years, my health played a very big part like staying clear of hair dyes (I have lots of grey hair and don’t think twice about dying it.) It’s actually a trend with younger women who are dying their hair grey. Go figure. Going through Covid and having many stores closed and many are closing made it quite difficult to have that social experience of shopping and trying on pants and shoes. Very discouraging. Having to buy from online and then returning them was such a pain. Dealing with weight gain for many years made it more difficult to buy any clothing because there was that chance of losing the weight so I wouldn’t go out buying new clothing. Now that I have lost 30-40 pounds in the past year allowed me to delve into my storage containers full of clothing I refused to throw out. Like you said once, choosing “classic” clothing is ageless. I learned many years ago that buying clothing that were made of breathable material was very important - so I love my cottons. Looking younger depends on your DNA, what you eat and drink, your skin regimen, etc. Feeling younger depends on your state of mind. If that means wearing comfortable clothing and shoes - it’s YOUR choice. But try to take into consideration what is age appropriate (like not wearing mini skirts or see through tops - not a good idea - it send a message) Wearing clothing you feel good in is the upmost important. Personally, I say check out the thrift shops. You never know what you will find.
ОтветитьI'm 68 try to eat healthy, don't wear make up but wear lipstick and wear dresses and used to be bullied at churches because I wear dresses and now younger ladies,in their 40 a50 are wearing dresses at church i decided in my fities how i like to look and accept myself and learning at this age to love myself and people's opinions are just that opinions
ОтветитьI have lived in Las Vegas, NV for 62 of my 72 years. SUNSCREEN every day has kept my skin healthy looking.
I recently married, 72 years to a 2nd loving and caring 78 year old man after being a widow for several years. My frequent smile has been the best accessory.
I AM a younger thinker. I LOVE CONCERTS, I am married and happy. HOWEVER I am ave way to 62 and found out when we moved out of town how much I PHYICALLY DO!!! I CANNOT stop grieving the loss of my youth. I was only reminded when we moved.
ОтветитьAt 55, I looked 45. At 60, I look 60 and I love it.
ОтветитьAs an 80-year-old man, I love this message!
ОтветитьGreat video❣️❣️
In the process of embracing 70. Looking at this new chapter with all it’s possibilities.
Your videos are informative and inspiring. 👏
Thank you, Margaret for reminding us that it can be fun to be older by enjoying life and being a woman with style and grace🙏🏻💕
I have no interest in trying to look younger. Loved the title of this video so decided to watch it. I just wanna be myself. 🥰
ОтветитьI love your channel. It's my day brightener and it help with this journey! Thank you Margaret and you're beautiful and you no way look 74!!
ОтветитьI appreciate the intention of what you offer here. In my experience the approach to being our best at any age is on a metabolic level. A diet of collagen rich foods, bone broths, mineral rich foods, herbs, and a myriad of other ways to keep our energy flowing is a key. Not part of the mainstream approach to living at any age.
As an analogy, we as human beings need to not focus on the chassis but what is under the hood. Make-up, hair, the way we dress has merit, but can be a band-aid approach to how we appear, especially if our metabolic health is not addressed. Western Medicine - and mainstream society does not approach life in that manner in my experience.
I just want to look the best I can for my age . My biggest fear is being frumpy.😂
ОтветитьI’m 68 and my style has always been sneakers, jeans and tshirts. I do invest in new style clothes. 16 years ago I lost 80 pounds and kept it off. I still dress in shirts that are bigger or looser because that’s how I’m comfortable but my jeans are fitted not tight or full of holes. My favorite color is any shade of blue and I love wearing shirts with some red. Red makes me feel vibrant. I stopped coloring my hair 2 years ago and have lovely gray hair that looks like highlights. I only wear a little makeup if I’m going out to somewhere fancy. My jewelry is a simple pendant with a silver or white gold chain and similar earrings. I’m very plain but that’s me.
ОтветитьI agree. I want to be great at my age.
ОтветитьI am 82 and imthoeoughly appreciated your comments today. I feel as you do with regard to embracing your age as that is something not many have achieved. Also the better you look the better and more positive you feel and it shows in your smile, eyes and attitude. It makes you the kind of person others want to be around.
ОтветитьI like to wear T-shirts. And Navy blue. I love that pink on you besides the bowl of pink flowers
ОтветитьGreat! Lovely discussion
ОтветитьI love this video! So on pointe. Margaret, you inspired me to put on makeup today. Wish we could have links to your cosmetics look today.
😊
Hi
ОтветитьWhat about teeth .
ОтветитьAging reminds us we are closer to death. No one likes to think of that. As a 66yr old I still feel 18! I just wear what I like that looks good on me and is appropriate for where I'm going. Never worry what others think, like I would've 30 yrs ago Wear whatever you like, live and let live!
ОтветитьI think once u embrace ur age u feel better about urself and the style seems to follow. Old school teachings, class equals confidence and style.
ОтветитьYou can change the look of classic pieces by changing accessories . E.g. - Jewellery, scarves, hats, belts, shoes, handbags, glasses, etc. you can make it fun but better to be understated and elegant rather that over the top!
ОтветитьI’m 5’2”& 110# most of my life. I’m 73 now & still enjoying life as a widow. My late husband once complained that he wished I would “dress my age”, which is hard to do considering I’m petite & have trouble finding clothes that fit right at all. I posted this on Facebook at the time, stating “this request coming in from my spouse who is wearing paint stained madras shirts & crocs with socks! All my West Coast friends said “be yourself!” God bless them. It was funny & I hope you had a chuckle at the story.
ОтветитьI think that is the great thing about thrift stores or Charity shops depending where you live is that you can find style from different decades. I graduated in the 80s I still like some big earrings and bright colors. I have found I have a variety of styles and I have never need to be with the current fashion. I think so many stores have the in fashions but that is why thrifting is fun because you can find a variety of things. I have always been different and I know it but that is what makes me me.
ОтветитьI'm 74, too!
ОтветитьYou look great I'm 70 n people take me for the 50s I always feel the same. God bless
ОтветитьI’m 70, love your tips,you’re very encouraging. I don’t want to look younger,but the best I can be.❤
ОтветитьI agree, i use what makes me feel comfortable and good about myself. Simple-age apropiate clothes. Mostly no make-up except on special occasions. Truly like to add a dash of fun like a pair of flat pink or awua
ОтветитьI think your hair is lovely!
ОтветитьI am 72 year old Canadian... I drive for a living and when friends ask when I am going to retire, I honestly have no answer.... when I turned 70 I asked myself what did I want and immediately the words energy, no pain, no age number and just be me one day at a time....yes girls !!! keep them guessing...lol
ОтветитьI too, wear make up because it makes me feel more pulled together. I do not feel dressed appropriately without mascara, blush, and lipstick at a bare minimum. I love your pro aging versus anti-aging approach. Thank you.
ОтветитьI absolutely love and relate to what you have just talked about. Thank you
Ответитьyou have style and your smile just makes you even more lovely
