Japan, a country that when it comes to cars has given us everything from the sensible yet boring like the Toyota Camry to the outrageous and breathtaking Lexus LFA.

But there are a bunch of Japanese classics that most have forgotten about, actually unless you’re a hardcore JDM fan, there’s a chance you never know these existed in the first place.

Now this list could be a Top 100 as the amount cars we dug up in the research for this were vast and fascinating, meaning we’ll probably end up doing a part 2, 3 and 4 down the track so in no particular order, here’s the first of our Top 5 forgotten JDM Classics.

I’m not sure some of these are entirely forgotten. The mega cruiser just featured on cars and bits and in Doug Demero’s video.

This list is very interesting classic JDM cars that toyota was it takes toyota to take a crap yank vehicle like the Hummer and make something so much better

The Starion, did you know that it was supposed to be called the Stallion? At it's launch I was introduced to the world be a famous Japanese person who was unable to say Stallion hence afterwards they renamed the car the Starion!

Couple of others to add to your next list. Toyota Century, particularly V12 and the Mazda Luce. I had an HC Mazda Luce with the 13B rotary turbo and it was amazing.

I always wanted a Nissan 200SX turbo, but by the time I was old enough and could afford one most were rusted out or thrashed/hooned to death in the UK.

Saw the CSP 311 in person at Highball Cars and Coffee just last Sunday 11 July 2021. Very Lancia Flavia like. Did the research following cars and Coffee and only then did I know how rare it actually was. It was a beautiful car. Very 60’s Italian in style.
