Enclose a section let the heater run over night .. then come back in the morning ? Even if it burnt down overnight you should make it bavk in the melt

Always wondered why different areas in the rockies produce different minerals. I know it's about stuff like temperature, and pressure, and perhaps what chemicals were dissolved flowing through veins millions of years ago. It's just hard to picture how all the diversity happens.

When I first saw those rocks, I thought, they looked precarious. Then later on, it was made clear that they are. This sort of work doesn't seem like it's for the careless or faint of heart. But I love minerals, so it's cool to see one way to acquire them.

I saw some of these gems on a video from the Tucson (I think) gem show and the guy said it was from Mt Antero, which rung a bell. I live in leadville. I got on Google earth and was like, "oh right, down near BV." I checked around some more on Google earth and could see the road up to about 13000 ft and just realized that's probably your claim I was looking at. Well, so much for my plan to drive up that road. My truck could make it, but I'm not about trespassing. Is your shop down in BV or nearby? I'd definitely be down to check it out this summer on one of my motorcycle rides.

I grew up in Chaffee county and I've always wanted to dig for aquamarines and smoky quartz on Antero but the only part that isn't claimed is the hardest part to get to, on the far side of everyone else's claims, and probably isn't even all that productive. There're like four places on Earth to find this stuff and most of them are on the other side of the planet.
