Its not realistic to expect economic consumers/workers to diversify their cash/savings... Diversification is an investment strategy, it's not how people want to be paid for their labor... People will eventually hold faith in one over another and that will be the market preference that likely gains and gains on it's competitor(we're probably already there, bitcoin(btc/xbt) is the standard).

There is no way BTC will be mass adopted as just a SOV. When gold originally became a store of value, it was backing up fiat. Moreover, it already had value as a precious metal. Also, let’s not forget gold was actually used in transactions by older civilizations as a medium of exchange. BTC doesn’t have that kind of history. What is it going to be a SOV for exactly? For other cryptos? That’s a joke. For BTC to become a SOV for currency, it will have to be prove itself as a currency first which means people need to use be able to use it for daily transactions and get comfortable with it. That’s why we need a proper transaction layer in the BTC network. For BTC to reach mass adoption it will have to prove its use case as both a medium of exchange and store of value.
