Another video that misrepresents things, the precursors never wpuldve "wiped out' the fore-runners, just like they never wiped them out when they were attacking their view of the mantle believed that life in all its forms good and bad were sweetness to the universe, so although they chose humanity they wouldnt have wiped out the forerunners to ensure the immediate rise of humanity, they wouldve curated humanity until they rose naturally. There was nevwr any documented instances of the precursors wiping out a species because thats not what they did.

So the thing is. In lore a Precursor could choose what they got reborn as at any time. And they could even choose to randomly die as that creature and become their original form

Something else to say, the Forerunners could have chosen to save themselves either by repopulating its race like they did with all others (like even humanity itself) or by just going to somewhere safe, but they chose not to, seeing the circusmtances they left the galaxy in they felt too ashamed and not worthy

Precursors are pretty much the Chozo of this universe. The Chozo created the metroids and Precursors created the Flood. Both are extremely advanced civilization that predated humanity. I simply want to say Microsoft simply team up with Nintendo make Metroid and Halo crossover.
